Cairns City Sheridan in Cairns

Arrived in the evening and reception shuts at 5pm. Key left in a safe for me. The room needs urgent decorating and repair with the walls disintegrating in the bathroom. Sheets were un ironed. Aircon in effective. It was cheap for cairns so you get what you pay for.

Checked into room, tv didn't work, 2 remotes - no batteries in either, staff couldn't get them to work. Went into bathroom, hadn't been swept/cleaned, paper on floor, used soap in shower holder, no toilet paper, hair/dirt/fluff in room entrance. Mattress was ancient. Advised staff, they moved me to another room with a spa, hair hanging in spa, dirt & stains, room smelt musty. Basin tap was loose, lime scale, no plug. Self contained kitchen area, no tea towel. Not very accommodating for a self contained unit. Foul language, yelling & screaming from upstairs unit, where was security? Would not recommend to anyone. Am pursuing a refund as it was terrible.

For the amount that we paid, it was in horrendous state! There was a very thick dust pile on the fan, the tiles have probably never been cleaned, when we tried to ask for more toilet paper, as there were 3 people staying for half a week, no one replied and no one was to be found at the desk. There were cockroaches in the room that we had to kill….for that price, 100% not worth the stay
