Beautiful little resort in a fantastic location - short walk to Macrossan Street, Four Mile Beach and the Marina, so everything at your fingertips. Our room was clean, bright and very comfortable. The pool is beautiful, heated to just the right temperature, and the tropical garden setting is lovely. David & Joyce were great hosts, super helpful and very gracious. We have stayed at a few different resorts in Port Douglas and this wins hands down - highly recommended

Place was a bit tired and dated. The room hadn't had a good thorough clean in a long time. Linen was clean and fresh but had holes in the sheets. Front desk person was not very friendly, a bit off hand. Our room was located upstairs, there is no lift which could be a problem for some. Location to town was great, one block back from the main street and a short walk to the beach. Over all we were disappointed in the accommodation and will not be returning here.

Location is awesome. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Everything is walking distance.
Very clean place. I do recommend.

Didn’t like you were asked to take the trash out before leaving. No shampoo available. If you wanted fresh towels you would get charged.

Great Pool and outdoor area. Secure and convenient car parking. Room reasonable size with good basic kitchen.
Cleanliness of room was less than satisfactory.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Port Douglas Retreat. The property is beautifully landscaped and the rooms are very clean, comfortable and have everything you need. The resort is close to Port Douglas’s attractions- walking easily to the magnificent 4 mile beach, the Marina and of course McCrossan St. Looking forward to a return visit soon.

Good atmosphere and service, but the food was very average. I had a beef and reef - tough overcooked pan fried piece of meat. One of the worst ones I ever had.

I am surprised to see the previous reviews. My family and I loved the pizza, especially the base, which was thin, crispy and tasty, just like in Italy. We wanted the deal with the 2 for 1 homemade tiramisu but there was only one tiramisu left, so the chef gave us the tiramisu plus a desert pizza with nutella, bananas and walnuts, my kids loved it and asked for more. If you want an authentic pizza in Port Douglas, go to Portico!

The place advertizes vegan options but does not actually offer them giving the excuse that the suoermarket was out of stock. That would be the same supermarket we went to and bought all vegan ingrediants including vegan cheese and made our own pizza. The attittude of the sales girl was very poor and it seemed that out business was not wanted and that was before we asked for the vegan options. The pizzas are quite small for the price and will not fill a hungry large adult. Much improvemement required.
