On the plus side, the hotel is charming and tranquil, with a very beautiful garden, and the pool is truly unique and one of the highlights of the stay.
The service was inconsistent and unpredictable. At times, it was genuinely welcoming and friendly, with some staff members going out of their way to be kind and attentive. At other times, however, the service was surprisingly poor and fell far short of expectations for a property in this price range and brand category—it was very inconsistent depending on the day.
The food was mediocre overall, including the hotel restaurant and breakfast, and there's no gym on the property, which may be a drawback for some travelers.
Although the surrounding neighborhood is pleasant and contributes to the hotel's charm, guests should be aware that it is a 30-45 minute taxi ride to the beaches under normal conditions. With Rio de Janeiro traffic, travel time can easily exceed an hour, which is an important factor to consider when planning daily activities.
2. No 110v power - the hotel provided a transformer which gave me an electric shock.
