Chateau Montagne Hotel Troyan in Troyan

Stayed at this hotel at the end of November 23, my partner had a conference to go to there.
We had landed in Sofia earlier in the day and were hit by the first real snow of the winter, this amounted to around 12 inches of snow and made us drive very slowly to the hotel, we actually arrived after midnight. We informed the hotel by phone of our delay.
Now the good bit, the hotel was very understanding and made us a hot dinner, with drinks and deserts ready for us for when we arrived, absolutely amazing of them!!!
On arrival the car parking is extremely limited but remember the snow so maybe it can be better, however free parking is available in the roads nearby.
Outside was well lit and Christmas lights up. Once inside it was warm and inviting, reception desk was manned and the receptionist was helpful and understanding.
A large lobby to the right with tables, chairs, loungers and a pool table ( free to use) and a small bar, everything clean and comfortable.
We stayed in apartment 3A on the third floor. One thing that I did not like was how there were fold-up beds stored in the corridor.
The apartment was a very good size, large double room, large sitting room, hallway, a balcony and good size bathroom.
Unfortunately the rooms are a bit dated and the bed covers are single size not doubles, we did ask for double size duvet but unfortunately these were not available.
One thing that does need sorting out, that we have noticed in places in Bulgaria, is the smell from the central drain in the bathroom, this smell is bad and we knew that we would have to cover the drain, fortunately the smell went after leaving on the extraction unit for a few hours with the drain covered.
Food at the hotel is good, it is very well priced, just remember it is a small kitchen so items are prepared to order, we ordered from menu and made changes which was no problem.
We tried the indoor swimming pool which was small but warm and had a full body aromatherapy massage each which was amazing, very well done, very professional, highly recommend.
Comfortable stay and would stay there again if in the area again.

The hotel is overall fine but the rooms are a bit worn-out. An unpleasant surprise was that the pool is open for everyone, it's not only for the hotel's guests. During the day the pool is full with people from outside the hotel and it gets really crowded and noisy. Not really a place where you can relax and enjoy.

The place was clean, room was nice size, plenty of space if you go with a baby. The inside pool is decent size for this size hotel. I’ve used both steam bath and sauna - working perfectly. I am also really pleased with the massage therapist at the place. Lobby space is perfect for chill out with friends and the restaurant is spacious enough for all guests. The only little thing was the food at the restaurant. Most of the predefined menus were with fried food and some of my friends had problems after consuming it. Overall very pleased with the experience!

Nice hotel but a bit worn-out interior of the rooms already. Room I stayed in was a single room which I found a bit small. Not many amenities in the room - no coffee and tea making facilities, no complimentary "Welcome" bottle of water. The bathroom particularly needs a lift-up - the door start to rotten, the shower head fall a part, the toilet seat a bit loose etc. The restaurant is very nice, good selection and prices. Service was very good. Breakfast buffet was also good but needs some lift-up too when it comes to variety and presentation and also lightning (a bit dull in the morning). The free parking is a great feature of any hotel nowadays.

Clean simple and comfortable. Excellent location, walking distance from downtown. Swimming pool and amazing rich food choice breakfast.

It's a really nice hotel, with all the needed ammenties- has outdoor pool, indoor pool, sauna, massages; nice and clean rooms,but small; the only disadvantage is that there is no elevator, hence not baby-friendly.

The food was really good. The rooms too and the hotel was really nice.

Not quite my type of place. I had a terrible mattress on the couch in the apartment. Service is good as well as the breakfast.
