They've got a pool, but seem to lack basic services: no water bottles in rooms, and it's quite noisy in rooms due to common pool area.
We’ve stayed at the Vibola a couple of times now. It’s got a great central location walking distance to lots of bars, amenities and just by the river. It is ‘cheap and cheerful’. Good value for money if on a budget. Nice little clean pool. Helpful (but quiet) staff. Rooms are a bit ‘tired’, but comfy bed, air con and plenty of hot water. All in all good value for the money.
Stayed 2 nights, and then booked 2 rooms for 2 night moore on internet and payed. they had overbooked, so we could’t stay there after all. Did we get our money back? Nope. They just smiled and looked happy to put some money in the pockit. the hotel was not clean either.
More like so so. Not so fancy as what I was expecting. But the toilet is a bit broken (can't see in the photos) and the door is hard to open and close a bit as it makes that weird sounds in friction with the floor.
The location is great. It's close to everywhere. It's just near the riverside.

This guest house is dirty even if the location is good .. you access by a stick staircase and you discover this horror .. floor of the room, under the bed, toilet, bathroom … everything is dirty

A very ideal hotel for Kampot. Located next to the river and in the center of the town. Hotel price is $15 to $18, with a tiny swimming pool and cold water.
Great for a couple of nights. I walked from the bus station, it was an easy walk even with my bags. I only had to turn down about 10 tuktuks. Room was ok, a bit dirty. Air-conditioning worked well. The pool was nice to look at, especially when it rained but the air con is like bathing in air, much nicer and less wet. One thing to note is how early Cambodians go to bed. I had to wake the receptionist up at midnight to obtain my key. He genuinely looked annoyed.
Clean, convenient, comfortable accommodation. Only problem no fridge or kettle in the rooms.
This guesthouse had good comments, which were certainly right a year ago.
The entrance and the building do not appear on Google Street View. I deduct that the guesthouse is recent.
I have booked a room for 5 days and I regret it. If you stay a night, you don't care too much, but a few days, you like to stay in a nice environment. I would not recommend this place which is going to be a disaster if no action is taken.
Lack of maintenance. The commons area around the swimming pool does not look clean. The bins around were not emptied for 4 days.
You have to request if you want the room to be cleaned
If the young man at the reception is lovely, the owner, his father?, ignores completely the customers and this attitude is unpleasant.
In the shower, the water is flowing poor. There is no water heater. When the outside temperature is 18°C, you would enjoy it.
Chairs only around swimming pool, no on balcony on upper floor

Not a bad little place but this being Kampot there were some things that could do with some fixing up. Staff were happy to help out and the motorbike rental is as cheap as you're going to get elsewhere. Great location close to the river and nearby bars, and it's pretty quiet too.

One star for the "happy" scam...no more happy served...don't go for the happy part...pizza was okayish...not sure about other food...
