We stood at Sam So Guest House 13 years ago when we visited Angkor Wat. We felt welcome and home at this family owned guest house. Sam So, his lovely wife and the rest of the family/staff do their very best to provide a home to their guests. The rooms are basic and large, yet clean and provide everything one needs. This year we returned to Siem Reap to visit Tonle Sap and, as a matter of fact, we also returned to Sam So. They were all so happy to welcome us again and provided a heartful and touching welcome. If you do not need a luxury hotel, I strongly recommend to stay at Sam So

The room is really big but the bed is not that comfortable.
I exchange money to the woman in the front desk and she gave me 1000 bills instead 10000 it was my very first day there so I was not aware of how the money looks like. I lost USD 10 is not much but I didn’t like it.

My stay at Sam So Guest House was second from none. The staff is very good and very helpful. The place is right at the centre of the city, one can walk to different places from the city centre

A simple hostel, but it really checks every box you could ask for. Rooms are clean and comfortable, towels and water are refreshed every day. The breakfast is simple, but very tasty and well presented. The location is great, you can walk to most places within siemreap in less than 20 mins. The best bit, though, are the staff. They are extremely attentive and helpful. We had no issues with anything, no miscommunications, nothing was late or wrong, nothing was missed. They really run a tight ship!

The sweetest front desk ladies were so helpful and welcoming. They set up a very last minute Angkor Wat tuk tuk tour for us and even let us check out 3 hours late since our flight was in the evening. As for the room, the bed was large and fairly comfortable, the shower had hot water, and the room had a fan and air conditioning - everything you’d need. We did not have the breakfast so I can’t speak on that. Overall a good value for your money.

The guest house have very good location, it also has suitable parking areas with reasonable prices. Anyway, there's something to be updated such as towels and mattress cover is quite old.

A really nice stay. It is neat and the location is perfect. No noise and yet close to all activities/entertainment options. Staff very helpful with advice and booking activities.! Good address and definitely worth it

The KINDEST staff who accommodated my late check in and check out, assisted me booking tours, activities and transport. Simple but comfortable room with great air con and Wi-Fi. Close enough to walk to pub street, downtown, etc. but far enough to take a break from the action. I would definitely recommend!

Sam So guesthouse is a nice place to stay in the main city centre of Siem Reap. The price is reasonable and the room very clean.

My favorite place where I could find delicious spicy noodle and variety of food. I did order papaya salad lately with sticky steam rice and fried chicken wing it was so yummy and really spicy like what I ordered. Their place is really romantic and we really like ambiance there with exceptional services. In overall Im pleased to rate this restaurant as 5 stars as they deserved to be. Will be back oftenly.

I loved their Fish Amok. The favour and the presentation were good enough. The staff were well trained and performed the duty perfectly. It was quiet and cold enough for the dining. It is located by the river.

I used to have dinner here last year but on a regular/usual day and I find it is good in taste with reasonable price. However, this afternoon (a day after Khmer New Year) I have another chance to go there for a quick lunch. I wanted to order Ramen set but I was told “The chief said it is difficult to make this recipe. Please order something different from that one.” At first, I am so shocked to hear such thing but I have no choice. Thus, I had cheese burger instead. My point is, I should be told more professionally like. It was out of stock today or we have limited amount of this menu. It was sold out also better than what I had told too.

One of our old school favorite haunts in Siem Reap for the past 13 years. This small little cafe grew from strength to strength because of simple, good, unpretentious and inexpensive food. Our usual orders are the Japanese egg omelette, shrimp dumplings, croquetas, but their pizzas and pastas are also very comfort-food level good.

Nice place on the river with an upstairs patio. I ordered a pina colada which hasn't been good in all of Asia but it was at least strong. We shared the fried dumplings and a beef dish with green peppers and Japanese sauce, I don't recall the name but they were both very good and filling.
