Reviews
The room was quite clean and had a small kitchenette (though I wish they provided complimentary water). The TV was old but still worked fine. Washroom has blow dryers & small complimentary shampoo/conditioner/bodywash/lotion. We stayed in a two-bed room, and the heaters worked well. Checkout was at 11am and we asked if we could extend for at least three more hours, but they don’t offer hourly rates. Fortunately, they allowed us to stay until 12 noon. Thank you so much!
I booked and fully paid for the room through Booking.com because my son’s friend was staying here. We arrived late at night, and when we tried to use the induction stove to cook noodles for the kids, it did not work. I called the office, and the owner kept repeating that I should turn the wall switch, even though I had already tried that. He just repeated the same thing over and over.
Then he hung up the phone while swearing in his own language. The call was on speakerphone, so my wife and children also heard it. We understood the words clearly because we are from the same country.
I called back and asked why he swore at us, but he denied it. About 10 minutes later, he came to the room with a wall timer switch and told us to replace it ourselves. I have never seen a motel owner tell guests to fix equipment on their own. He also told us that if we didn’t like it, we should leave.
We left immediately and spent almost two hours in our car talking with Booking.com to explain the situation. Eventually, we were able to check in at another hotel (Prestige BW) around 2:30 AM thanks to their staff’s kindness.
This was an extremely stressful and unpleasant experience. Being sworn at in front of my children and receiving no basic service is unacceptable. I do not recommend this place at all.
1 adult could use a bed because it was jammed against a wall. Over all, would stay again with 2 adults.
Lost electricity second day
During the night time
So no heat / no lights
Limited access to washroom
Left at 3 o'clock, in the morning to find some warmer building.
The room was very clean; the kitchenette was well-stocked with all the necessary essentials. We appreciated the dish drying rack, dish sponge, cloth, dish towel that made it easy to clean up. Super value.

Then I decided that I'd try one more time. I am a fan of supporting local businesses and this is one of the older businesses in Cranbrook.
We ordered (for delivery) a 10" pepperoni pizza, a regular lasagna, a seafood lasagna, a salad and some garlic toast with cheese. This was the first time ever that the toast has been delivered correctly so I had hope. Sadly my seafood lasagna had meat sauce in it.
When I called the next day to complain the owner flat out told me that I couldn't have ordered a seafood lasagna because he was working and didn't remember making it. Then he tried to tell me that I what meant to say is that I ordered a regular lasagna. (He's done this to me before. More than once. I used to work at a hotel and we did quite a bit of business with them in the form of us recommending his resautant to guests.) Then he admitted that he had a helper who may have made the mistake but asked me why it would have had meat sauce put on it if they weren't made that way. As if I should know the answer to that. Then he asked me where he was when my order was given to the kitchen and prepared. Again, why would I know that? He proceded to ask me questions like "where was the meat sauce in the lasagna" and "how did it taste" and "why didn't I call the night before" he was very condescending.
Finally he asked what I would like. I told him that I just wanted my seafood lasagna replaced. He offered to give it to me half for price and probably would have made me pay for the delivery too. I was also asked if I could pick it up rather than have it delivered. Neither are a possibility. So, rather than fixing his mistake to ensure I am not a dissatisfied customer he tried to argue his way out of it and leave me to think that I have done something wrong. In a way I guess I did. I ordered dinner from the Apollo Ristorante and Steak House again after I'd sworn off of it.
I don't usually leave negative reviews but this has happened too many times and I can't imagine I'm the only one but no one else is saying anything.
If you end up deciding to take the chance on going here and you somehow manage to get the correct order then the food will most likely be good. However, don't be surprised if you are disappointed, decide to complain and then are told you are mistaken.
