Country Garden Phoenix Hotel in Haikou

The staff were exceptional at this hire and made me and my child very welcome. I would like to mention that Wendy provided excellent service who went above and beyond to help us. Wendy has an extensive knowledge of activities in the area, helped me with installing WeChat and AliPay which were indispensable apps needed in China. She also was on hand and available ensuring our stay was excellent.

The actual hotel was ok as it was quite dated however some work was being carried out in the front so there is hope for improvement. The breakfast was quite good each morning too. The views of the national forest park were beautiful too. I would definitely return to stay here again 🙌🙌

The weather in Zhangjiajie was lovely during my stay, and the hotel environment is truly perfect for a vacation. Enjoying a few drinks on the balcony with friends in the evening was absolutely fantastic! The hotel lobby is very grand. This hotel is ideal for those traveling by car, as it's very close to the Forest Park and parking is convenient. The hotel staff also had excellent service attitudes and even gave us some souvenirs. It was a delightful trip!

The hotel was nice and our butler was lovely, but we had serious cleanliness and service issues. On the second day, our toilet was not cleaned, and the shampoo was not replenished—which we hadn't had since the first day anyway. On our last day, we received two fewer bottles of water, and the pool was out of order. Additionally, they forgot to bring back our laundry in the evening, so we had to text them before they finally delivered it.

This is a European-style hotel with spacious rooms and a pleasant environment, but the facilities are outdated. The central air conditioning was broken, and while there was a standing AC unit, it emitted a musty smell that gave me a headache after an hour. I ended up having to leave the French windows open and sleep without AC. Luckily, the weather wasn't hot, and at least the air was better. I recommend the hotel regularly clean its AC filters, as breathing in moldy air is unhealthy. Breakfast was decent, but the plastic bowls and cutlery really cheapened the experience. Details matter. Outside the room's balcony was a large, desolate platform that made the area look rundown. The bathroom fixtures were old, and the hairdryer was so ancient it was practically a display piece.

On the positive side, Hu Wenwen at the front desk provided attentive and detailed service, which deserves commendation.

The hotel is located between Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area and Wulingyuan, and it's also close to the highway. The surroundings of the room are very quiet. The breakfast selection is also rich.

This hotel offers a pick-up and drop-off service, which is a great perk. The environment is very comfortable, grand, clean, and cozy. The staff are very attentive; they guided us to check-in and even took our luggage directly to our room without us having to lift a finger.

This is by far the best hotel I've stayed at in Zhangjiajie, no contest! Absolutely delightful. The pool water was super clean, and there were several lifeguards – it's the most responsible setup I've ever seen.

The room was spacious with a balcony, which I loved. Before this, we'd been hopping from hotel to hotel. The ones near the scenic spots were either ridiculously expensive if they were decent, or felt like we were fleeing for our lives rather than vacationing if they were cheap. Not a single one made us feel at ease until this place.

Before we even checked in, the hotel called to confirm our arrival time. When we got there, a butler even opened our car door and helped with our luggage – truly five-star service! And we only paid around 400 yuan.

The lobby decor is incredibly luxurious and grand, and the rooms are beautifully decorated too. The service is top-notch! The breakfast is simply unbeatable – great ambiance, excellent hygiene, and a wide variety of dishes.

In short, this is a hotel that genuinely cares about hospitality. They put a lot of effort into everything, and I highly recommend them. We'll definitely be back. Don't let the distance from the scenic area deter you; it's only about a 10-minute taxi ride. We used to think booking hotels close to the attractions was better, but that's what made our trips feel like an escape. It wasn't until we stayed here that we truly understood what a Zhangjiajie vacation should be like!

The environment is good, and the restaurant is quite large. Many foreigners stay here. It's only about ten kilometers to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and getting there by taxi is convenient.
