Sanya Hawaii Hotel in Sanya

After reading the description, I knew this was an old hotel that's been around for decades, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. The hygiene was terrible, and there was no service whatsoever. The 3.3-star rating is definitely deserved. It's such a waste of a great location.

The room was outdated, and the staff's attitude was poor. The only good thing was its proximity to the beach. I booked through Trip.com, which allowed for a late checkout until 2 PM, but the hotel was incredibly uncooperative and refused to honor it. The benefits I receive, like late checkout, are agreed upon between the platform and the hotel before I even book. If the hotel doesn't recognize the late checkout perk offered on the platform, that's an issue they should resolve with the platform, not take out on me! Otherwise, don't even list your hotel on these platforms! For such a large hotel, they are completely unreasonable and lack integrity!

This hotel is really old. The lobby restrooms were an absolute disaster. Despite being a tall building, there are only two elevators, and one was out of order on the day we checked in. We had to wait half an hour just to go downstairs, and eventually, we ended up walking down from the 7th floor with elderly family members! The rooms are dated, the ceilings are low, and the carpets are worn out. There were a lot of Russians staying there, and the entire hotel had a strange smell that I really disliked! We booked three rooms, but they wouldn't upgrade the breakfast for our two children, even though the hotel breakfast was particularly unappetizing and looked disgusting. This was the only hotel we regretted staying at during our 11-day Hainan island tour! However, compared to other places nearby, the price was indeed quite cheap. The female receptionist was very nice and accommodating.
