The hotel did not return the security deposit right after a clear checkout!!! Did they forget or try to do some monkey business here? I am not going to recommend you to stay here.

3 weeks after my checkout. no sign of deposit return, so I emailed them. Only then they forwarded a note showing their bank acknowledged the cancellation request on the same day I emailed them. No apology, no clarification. Just "check with your bank. the deposit return is 7-14 days after check out".

I would highly advise against staying at this hotel. The room rates drop extremely quickly, and there is no price protection for guests who book in advance.
I booked 3 rooms 6 days prior to arrival for over 772 USD (approx. 5,600 CNY). Shortly after my booking, the rates dropped significantly. The hotel refused to allow refunds so that I could rebook at the lower price.
By the day of check-in, the rate had dropped by over 179 USD (approx. 1,300 CNY) compared to what I had paid in advance. When I attempted to negotiate with the front desk to honor the lower rate or offer compensation, they refused to adjust the booking price and offered no compensation whatsoever.

Not one to complain normally but we had an awful stay here.
Despite the confirmation email stating 'Your credit card will be charged 100% of the total price of the reservation at the time of booking.' - This money was not charged and had to be paid upon check-in alongside a HKD1000 deposit which was not mentioned in the booking email or T&Cs.
Next, the toilet in our room did not flush and despite being promised over the phone an upgrade we were shifted to a room at the same category with a worse setup including no bedside table on one side and a smaller bathroom.
At check out we were told the amount initially charged was insufficient and they needed to charge an extra 10% of government fees despite the booking email stating 'total amount'. This is illegal in most jurisdictions - its not a city tax its VAT/GST and should be advertised in the price.
In addition the rooftop is closed over the winter months and the 'apero' hour despite being advertised with a wine glass merely consists of a free water or can of soda between specific hours.
Front desk staff did their best to make things work but clearly a lot to work on from a management perspective.

Terrible experience – alarm going off for 2 hours

Just checked into the hotel and immediately had the worst experience.
The fire alarm went off continuously for nearly 2 hours after I arrived.

There was no clear explanation, no proper communication from the staff, and absolutely no solution offered. Guests were left confused, stressed, and unable to rest.

After a long journey, this is the last thing anyone wants to deal with.
Completely unacceptable for a hotel that claims to provide comfort and safety.

Would not recommend, and definitely will not stay here again.

It's a far cry from what it used to be, especially the restaurant.

The hotel was a dump. The front desk staff were incredibly arrogant and condescending. Its only redeeming quality was its proximity to Ocean Park.
