My long-awaited trip to Tibet finally began, and I decisively chose The St. Regis Lhasa. The room was spacious, amenities were complete, and the location was convenient, close to all the main attractions. They even have a medical room, and their homemade altitude sickness medicine is quite effective, supposedly with no side effects. Thanks to this medicine, I was able to continue my journey to Ngari. The breakfast was also very generous and varied over my three-day stay, not the same every day. There were also some à la carte options; I enjoyed congee with abalone slices, which was comforting. Furthermore, in an altitude-prone area, the staff's attitude is a big plus. I especially want to commend our butler, Riri. As I was experiencing a bit of altitude sickness, I bothered her quite a bit, but the thoughtful Riri patiently helped me out. I'll definitely choose The St. Regis again next time I'm in Lhasa.

I had high expectations for the St. Regis, but honestly, I was very disappointed. First off, when I went to wipe down the bathroom counter myself, I found a fake eyelash! I called for service, and it took over ten minutes for someone to arrive. Their solution? A set of skincare products! Thanks a lot for that! After some negotiation, we were moved to a different room, but the upgraded room was in Building 2, which involved an inconvenient uphill/downhill walk from the main building. As for the room's facilities, they were incredibly outdated. The overhead shower sprayed everywhere, and the wall-mounted one wouldn't even stay in place; it just sprayed directly into my face when I tried to use it. They fixed the overhead shower the next day after I reported it at night, but shouldn't that have been in working order before guests check in? Plus, the room was freezing cold! The windows were drafty! Truly a massive disappointment!

This is my second stay at The St. Regis Lhasa Resort after two years, and it truly lives up to its five-star reputation. The one-on-one service is exceptional, and they proactively helped with my luggage. From the hotel's cafe, you get a panoramic view of the Potala Palace. I especially want to mention that the breakfast spread is incredibly rich and refined. Haha, honestly, besides the high price, there are very few downsides.

This is my second stay at The St. Regis, and the overall quality is, as expected, top-notch – probably the best in the area. The breakfast, in particular, is outstanding; there's a huge selection, and the service is quite warm and welcoming. The only downside is that it gets very crowded during holidays. The experience would probably be even better on a regular weekday. Both times, Tina assisted me, and her service was excellent. I'm very satisfied and will definitely choose The St. Regis again for my next visit.

Our butler, Justin, provided exceptional and thoughtful service, always ready to assist with any request. My first stay at The St. Regis Lhasa was a decade ago, and even though the facilities are a bit older now, it remains my go-to hotel whenever I'm in Lhasa. The front desk staff were also very considerate, arranging rooms in the main building for me and my friend.

Extremely satisfied with my stay.
The hotel is beautiful.
Breakfast was fantastic, a semi-buffet. Ruth's service was exceptional – she even helped us pack our abalone porridge and sweet tea when we were in a rush.
For lunch, we chose the Chinese restaurant's outdoor seating. The service was great, and the food was delicious too.

Staying at The St. Regis Lhasa in spring truly felt like being immersed in springtime itself. My butler, Tina, is such a cheerful lady with a radiant smile. Facilities: The room type was very spacious, I booked a two-bed room this time. The cleanliness was acceptable, but the facilities were a bit old, and there was some water leakage. Room service was prompt.
Minibar: Good.
24-hour oxygen supply service: This was very important, especially the 24-hour medical room. Due to severe altitude sickness for the first few days, I spent most of my time in the medical room. Only after taking medication and receiving oxygen could I manage to walk around a bit outside.
Cleanliness: Acceptable, and the turndown service was also good.
Environment: This is arguably the best in Lhasa. After staying one day elsewhere, I spent the remaining days at The St. Regis. During my stay in Lhasa, I mostly dined and engaged in activities at the hotel. The room layout was very well-proportioned, and maintenance was decent. Afternoon tea was just okay, but the Western restaurant had excellent food, and the sweet tea was the best.
Service: The butler, Tina, was excellent. Her service was attentive throughout, and I was very satisfied. Next time I visit Lhasa, I definitely won't choose any other hotel. She even proactively checked in on my well-being.

Here's a review of my stay:

**Pros:**
* **Fantastic Location:** Just a 10-minute walk to Jokhang Temple/Barkhor Street, and about 2 km from Potala Palace. It's tucked away in a quiet spot but still close to the action.
* **Elegant ******* Design:** The lobby features a traditional ******* white stupa, red lacquer wood carvings, and white walls. The public areas have spacious gardens, and the rooftop bar offers direct views of Potala Palace at night – perfect for photos!
* **Altitude Sickness Friendly:** Each room has an independent oxygen generator (which works really well!), a humidifier, and underfloor heating. There's also a 24-hour infirmary, making you feel completely secure regarding altitude sickness.
* **Excellent Service:** Butler-style service. Upon check-in, we received a Hada scarf, yak butter tea, and welcome fruits/yak yogurt. The evening ceremony (******* knife champagne opening + bonfire + Guozhuang dance) was a truly special experience.
* **Thoughtful Breakfast:** A semi-buffet with à la carte options, offering a great variety and consistent quality. They had ******* tsampa, cheese dregs, yak butter tea, alongside Western Eggs Benedict.

**Cons (My Real Experience):**
* **Noticeable Hardware Aging:** The hotel has been open for many years. The curtains were jammed/damaged, the rain shower had weak and erratic water flow, and the floors showed wear. Maintenance seems to be lacking.
* **Inconsistent Service Details:** Turndown service was perfunctory. Amenities like body lotion were an extra charge. Some public areas and guest restrooms had hygiene blind spots (dust, water stains).
* **Significant Price Fluctuations:** The room rate dropped considerably on the day of booking after I had already paid, which was a poor experience for members/repeat guests. There were also occasional tour groups, which reduced the sense of privacy.
* **Inconvenient Public Area Layout:** Guest rooms are spread across different buildings, meaning long walks and tiring uphill climbs.
