This is my second time staying at the Shangri-La in Lhasa. The service is excellent, and the breakfast is abundant and delicious. They even gave us complimentary water and dessert. I'll definitely be back!

The "Ping" An Xile welcome gift included fruit. The hotel has an infirmary, which is reassuring for those who come to the plateau on short notice (in case of sudden altitude sickness). The cost of 780 [yuan] is a bit high, but medical staff are available 24 hours a day. The front desk service was good, and the room service was excellent. However, there was a smell of yak butter in the room, which might be unpleasant for those who don't like that kind of scent. The room was very spacious with a lot of Tibetan-style decor. Breakfast was poor and not recommended.

Stayed at Shangri-La Tibet for 3 nights. Michael and Pema handled our check-in, they were very warm and attentive, and even managed to get us a room with a view of the Potala Palace. The room had humidifiers and an oxygen bar, which made us feel at ease as first-time visitors to Tibet.

The room was warm and equipped with an oxygen concentrator and humidifier, which was perfect for tourists who had just arrived in Lhasa. We could see the Potala Palace directly from the hotel. The homemade yogurt and sweet tea at breakfast were delicious.

The location is excellent, right opposite the Tibet Museum, just a 5-minute walk away. Parking at the hotel is very convenient; during the off-season, you can park directly in front of the lobby without even going down to the underground garage.

The front desk staff was very professional in helping us check in and thoughtfully reminded us to rest on our first day at high altitude.

The room has a traditional and warm ******* decor. When visiting Tibet in the off-season (December), it's essential to stay in a warm hotel to alleviate the discomfort of high altitude.

Even in Tibet, Shangri-La's breakfast maintains its usual high standard. Be sure to try the tsampa and homemade yogurt. We also happened to meet Kent, who is in charge of the restaurant, and he provided excellent service and recommended some itineraries for exploring Tibet.

The room was spacious and clean, and the bedding was reliably comfortable. It was equipped with an oxygen concentrator and humidifier, which really helped alleviate altitude sickness. The view opposite was great, directly overlooking the mountains. The service was also excellent; both the front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly, and the robot delivery for meals was super fast. The breakfast had a wide variety, good quality, and featured ******* specialties, which we were very satisfied with, so we extended our stay for two more days.

The location is very convenient, with views of the Potala Palace and directly across from the Lhasa Museum. The rooms have oxygen facilities, and there are medical resources available, making it great value for money.

Exceeded all expectations! The moment you step through the door, you feel transported back 1200 years to the grandeur of ******* nobility. I mistakenly booked a package without breakfast, but Xiao Guo at the front desk and Manager Zeng Dan immediately upgraded my room and even threw in a complimentary day of breakfast. I was incredibly touched! I'll definitely be back next time.

Looking at the decor, you can tell it must have been beautiful when it was first built, with distinct ******* characteristics. It basically has all the facilities and services a five-star hotel should offer. However, the problem is that after so many years, the facilities are just too old. The cabinet doors don't close properly, the seating cushions are heavily worn, the old-fashioned toilet is very difficult to use, and the glass is foggy – I'm not sure if it's dirty or just aged. I chose a room with a Potala Palace view, but the cloudy glass really spoiled the experience. There were even leftover toenails from previous guests on the carpet, which was quite disgusting. I also have to mention the mini-bar. There were only 6 cans of Coke and Sprite, with no price tags. I assumed they were complimentary, but when I asked, they were 18 yuan each. Seriously, I've stayed in many five-star hotels. If a mini-bar is going to charge, please at least stock it with sparkling water, orange juice, and beer (if not wine or sparkling wine) to look more professional. If you only have these few bottles, either be generous and offer them for free, or just remove them. The current approach feels a bit cheap. Overall, this hotel definitely needs a renovation.

I chose the Shangri-La primarily because of its close proximity to the Tibet Museum, which I wanted to visit. Overall, it lives up to the consistent Shangri-La standard. Both the hardware and software are quite good, and there were a lot of international guests staying there. My stay was short, so I didn't get to experience many of the hotel's additional facilities. Most people arriving in Lhasa experience varying degrees of altitude sickness, so warmth and diffused oxygen are essential. The breakfast was plentiful and of excellent quality.
