Aura Resort Sidi Abd El Rahman El Alamein

Very poor and expensive
Balcony door would not lock due to lock falling out! Expensive food and manual addition for billing. Poor pool hours. No lifts. Security staff asleep. One roll of toilet paper and no reserves. This is a cheap 1980s Spanish hotel at best. I will never return.

Horrible, staff was terrible and would not rectify any issues we brought up.

There was a lot wrong with our stay here. Firstly we had problems with paying in advance for our booking, as did everyone else in our group. We transferred the requested amount up front, but were told that less than this amount had been received because of the transfer fees from the hotels bank, and we were made to pay the extra very large amount when checking out. The food provided at the hotel was also not of good quality and often left us having to seek our meals elsewhere, when there are not many other places around. Some of the rooms were not clean on arrival, including dead insects like cockroaches. The poor quality of the WiFi and the fact that it is not available inside the rooms was also very frustrating. The staff were mostly friendly and the beech is nice enough, though the shuttle bus for this was not great and very rickety. Overall, cannot recommend this hotel at all.

When we booked we were so excited to engage with all the great things the resort promised. We paid them via bank transfer as they requested. Weeks later, after emailing them multiple times to confirm payment they said they would have to charge us a lot extra as they had not received the full amount. I triple checked with my bank, sent them copies of the transfer, and still they ignored my emails and requests and ultimately charged us so much extra money. We got tired of fighting and just paid when were checking out as we were risking losing our flight. Any amount paid for this hotel is too much. The food is awful. We saw multiple live cockroaches. The WiFi doesn’t work. The staff is unhelpful and rude. It’s far from the beach, and the shuttles are falling apart, dangerous and very sparse. Ultimately, the way we were treated was so upsetting and disrespectful, we would not wish this experience to anyone else. Please spare yourself and stay ANYWHERE else during your vacation.

The worst hotel you can go to. Save yourself and don’t go here if you’re a tourist, you will have the worst stay!! Definitely staying here is ruining the entire vacation. The reception is not helpful. They give you dirty rooms with paint smell and no view. Once you complain of the room odour, they fill it with air freshener, which is even worse. The resort has no elevator. The breakfast is 3/10. Save yourself time and money and go somewhere worth it. Nothing good about this hotel.

It’s hard to think of one good nice thing about this hotel. Rooms were dusty, food was horrible and overpriced, service was a joke. Rooms were old and smelly, and as soon as we checked in we realized the cold water tap in our bathroom did not work (!). We had power cuts multiple times a day, often at the most inconvenient times. During lunch, my husband and I had to wait for around 1 hour for our cheeseburgers, and the waiter ended up being rude to us after we followed up and asked about our order. The staff spoke almost no English, to the point where the towel boy did not know how to say towel or the waiters in the restaurant did not know how to say cutlery or alcohol. It was very very hard to navigate, so this hotel is definitely not prepared for international tourists. Breakfast buffet was disgusting, and the shuttle to the beach was in very bad condition. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Did not stay in the hotel at all and claimed my money from ******* and have a case number and disappointed with ******* to list such a hotel
I had to pay 650 usd a night at the G hotel as it was the only one with available rooms on the 13 July when I refused to stay in Aura hotel due to hygiene issues

The stay at Aura was not good at all, and went wrong for many reasons: 1- After putting a note in my booking for a king sized bed, upon arrival the receptionist asked personal questions if any of our group is a couple and did not accommodate our request, even though it wasn’t their business to ask these questions. 2- Upon arrival, they did not inform us about the facilities available including the beach. The next day we had to search for another beach to go to which was hard since they were all still closed… we had to ask them ourselves until they finally told us that there’s a beach access from Aura resort. 3- The food was very bad… they overcharge for their food and buffet which is really not worth it. 4- The resort was unclear about their visitors policy… they only told us once we were there that visitors are not allowed after 11pm which is bizarre since we’re tourists and have the liberty to host friends. 5- We asked them to bring us mugs to have coffee and they wanted to charge us for them. 6- The staff was nice but they were uninformed and unhelpful when it comes to things to see in the area and places/restaurants to go to. In short, wouldn’t recommend this resort for anyone! There are much nicer places to stay at in the North Coast that are also affordable.
