Scandic Lahti City in Lahti

Totally new hotel. Fantastic!!!

We were generally satisfied with our stay at Scandic Lahti City. The hotel has recently undergone a major renovation and looks clean, modern, and fresh throughout, which made a very good first impression.

However, the sauna facilities could be much more inviting. At the moment, the sauna area feels more like entering a large sports hall locker room than a relaxing hotel spa. It is also completely separated from the hotel, and you have to access it partly through the shopping centre section — not directly through stores, but via cold, echoing corridors, which takes away from the atmosphere.

There were no typical relaxation areas or cosy lounge spaces besides the main hotel lobby, which made the wellness experience feel incomplete.

On the positive side, breakfast was absolutely on par with the Scandic chain’s usual quality — a good variety, tasty options, and everything well organised. The breakfast staff were exceptionally polite and accommodating, which added a very pleasant touch to the morning.

Parking is convenient in the warm underground garage for €18 per day. It’s also a nice perk that you can walk directly into the department store from the hotel without needing to put on outdoor clothes.

Overall, Scandic Lahti City offers a pleasant and freshly renovated environment in a great location, with excellent breakfast service — though the sauna facilities could be made much more comfortable to match the rest of the hotel’s quality.

How beautifully renovated! Very cozy and comfortable rooms with soft beds, big pillows and thick covers in bed. Super friendly and experienced staff - they really know what they are doing! Also breakfast staff was very service-minded and helpful! Breakfast was amazingly good with several options and great gluten-free options. We were extremely happy and satisfied guests with good sleep. We will definately come back ☺️

Our basic room was nicely renovated but you could not connect your phone to the tv so say goodbye to watching streaming services in the end of the day. Some of the tv-channels weren't working either. The soaps smell very "manly" but this is a problem for all Scandic hotels in my experience (why can't they be unperfumed for everyone?). The AC made weird clattering noise so that was unfortunate as I had to turn it off at night and suffer. At least the room was able to be made completely dark and "neighbours" could not be heard. The breakfast buffet was good quality and had lots of variety. Iced coffee with oat milk gets a special mention! Also the staff was very friendly. Parking was 18 € per 24 h which sucks but is quite common nowadays.

We spent one night, and the hotel has everything that is needed. The room was comfortable, bright and well-equipped. Breakfast is good (as always in Scandic hotels), and it is possible to find any type of breakfast (cereals, sandwiches, fruits, etc). The room is very clean.
