Hotel Harriet in Turku

The only advantage of the place is that it is in a frequented area. I had to wait 15 minutes at the reception before they found that I had really booked the room. It is difficult to get into the room because the lock is tight. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything. There were no cupboards or furniture. They provide bed linen but no towels. The rooms are cold, especially the bathroom, of which there is one for 12 rooms, a bathroom and toilet in one space. If the cold hadn't bothered me, I wouldn't have wanted to bath here, the cleanliness wasn't real either. One person carries the whole place on his back, the porter.

Truly awful hotel, visited 6 years ago and nothing seems to have changed (for the better atleast). Avoid at all cost if you want to stay healthy. 🥴

I had a truly unpleasant experience at Harrie Hotel in Turku during my one-night stay from June 21-22. From the moment I arrived, the service and conditions were appalling. Due to a late flight, I checked in later than planned, only to be confronted by the owner demanding an extra fee for a "late check-in." I felt like a blatant attempt to take advantage of the situation. As if that wasn't enough, they also tried to charge me additional money for an en suite bathroom, which was already included in my reservation. The owner was exceptionally rude and dismissive when I pointed this out, behaving in an impolite and incorrect manner throughout our interaction. The hotel itself is in terrible shape. The building is old, poorly maintained, and felt filthy. The rooms were far from the cleanliness standards one would expect, and the overall atmosphere was depressing. It's clear that no effort has been made to ensure a comfortable stay for guests. This was, without a doubt, a very negative experience. The hotel's attempt to scam me for additional fees, combined with the owner's rude behavior and the rundown state of the facilities, made this one the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I would strongly advise others to avoid staying here.

Odd place in Turku
If you are getting off an evening ferry and into a morning train in Turku, then maybe you’d consider this place. But otherwise, no. It is basic basic with zero frills (and a very disinterested welcome). Not worth it for the price.

Walls and windows are probably made of cardboard paper since you hear everything going on inside and outside of this hostel. Window blinds are of the cheapest variety and woefully inadequate for nordic summer where it starts to get bright at 4am. No recommended if you want a good night sleep.

We had booked three nights but had to leave after two nights as there were black marks on the mattress and my friend was bitten. We strongly suspect bedbugs. The owner accused us of false information and refused to compensate us for the lost night. To make matters worse, the owner threatened to report me to the police if I wrote a review. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone.

Bed Bugs!!!!!

I stayed in this hotel only because I arrived to Turku late at night and made a mistake in booking my original hotel and wasn't able to check in until the next day. I give Harriet full credit for accepting me on a very short notice, like an hour before I arrived. The guy at the reception desk was super helpful and accommodating. I didn't care about shared shower rooms with dated decor. I stayed in many hostels before. The only difference was the bed bug infestation. I woke up covered in bites. When I got home, I took no chances. Everything was incinerated before I even entered my house.
