Thalacap Camargue in St. Maries-de-la-Mer

This is the most kid-unfriendly place we have ever stayed at (and we have stayed in a LOT of places world-wide). Kids may not jump in the pool, may in general not play in the mostly deserted pool area, may not play ball on the extended lawn area,…. In fact, what kids MAY do is easily summarized: pay for their stay and that‘s about it. If you do not want kids: simply say so on your website as well as on all booking portals you advertize your place on and do not accept family bookings. But please be consequent… do not accept money on the one hand and then take all fun away on the other hand. And on a side note: there‘s a pool supervision that probably didn‘t quite make the cut to her dream job as ward in a supermax prison… The only reason why we gave this place a second point: the hotel has a really good restaurant with nice staff and is situated on in a superb location right at the waterfront. Amenities: the hotel would need something between 20 and 50 million EUR in Investments to substantially shape up. Also, a fundamentally new concept is dearly needed to attract a more open minded crowd willing to spend a buck and revive this fantastically located yet-to-become a ruin of a „resort“.
