La Caravelle in Bonifacio

The worse place we stayed at… 1- talking about a courtyard view… no no courtyard but rather a lift-shaft! awful. 2- Be ware they are linked with the B52 night club and it is an open night club in the street, (so you know), all the rooms come with hear plugs! but for us actually not having a nicer room on the harbour the night club was not an issue. 3- however the after party in the hotel bar was a real nightmare!! full music till… 4.08 am plus clear up moving furniture for another hour… 4- hotel is now ignoring our request for a refund as we did not sleep between 2.30am and 5.30am (which we used to find another hotel for our second night) due to the noise of the bar and the bar belong to the hotel, so can’t say it was a neighbour…we were however allowed to check out early! 5- very expensive for what you get even if it was quiet DO NOT BOOK

Very noisy, there is a club next door playing music till 1.00 -1.30 am in addition we were kept away until 4.00 am we were told it was a staff party, but appeared to be a lock in. We were booked for 2 nights but checked out the following day as we found another hotel

This hotel is a club until 1am. Loud thumping music. Zero customer concern. We expected to sleep because it’s a hotel and we got 4 hours of sleep. Do not stay here.

Prior to our eating experience: We have booked the restaurant visit at the 'La Caravelle' (family of eight) all together with a yacht harbour arrangement (Email confirmation) received. We arrived at the harbour (morning place was available),we visited the restaurant and asked specifically the restaurant management about any harbour fees! The restaurant team stated and confirmed that everything is sorted & arranged, while we were dining that night. We left the harbour the next morning with no issues.
Three days later the harbour office contacted us, that the harbour fees were not paid! Back and forth discussions, the restaurant refused to cover the fees, even they have stated this clearly during our restaurant visit. We understand of this experience, that the 'La Caravelle' communication, behaviour and attitude is misleading restaurant customers.

Food review: We paid a very high price for our dinner. The La Caravelle food presentation and taste has a lack of ideas, creativity and innovation, compared to well known competition in close proximity at the harbour. The starter ravioli were too salty, the scorpion fish lacked of cooking ideas and the Beaujolais for two (with five fresh fish) offered no innovation.

In general our experience was a well overpriced dinner, not matching at all a well known restaurant guide competition in the region. Any guests should not expecting the very nasty and costly aftertaste with the harbour office and La Caravelle receptionist!

Was clean and ok.But WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what it was.Backyardwindows without a view but airconditionnoise from outside.even though it was the more expensive room because the other ones are towards the harbour and are more noisey. No Minibar fridge. And really bardly renovated.Painted over everything like a freshmen and paint allready comeing off.

We stayed here for one night before getting the early boat to Sardinia. At check-in we were advised there would be some music “like a club” outside. It’s still not clear if this happens every Friday evening of if it was for the light-up-the-town celebrations. Regardless, a quality hotel that care about the guests would have warned the customer through the travel agency in advance and offered an option to cancel. The noise was appalling and the stay was miserable. The music was right outside the window and didn’t finished at 01:30 If was impossible to sleep. There was no apology on the morning and no note in the room.

Maybe this happens but the onus should be on the hotel to advise the guest not just present it as a fait accompli! There were lots of other options available. The hotel should offer a refund for speaking service and a ghastly stay! I would absolutely not recommend this hotel.
