Hôtel le Belvédère in Porto-Vecchio

We booked the Hotel Belvedere on line based on its 4 star rating & location adjacent to the bay of Porto Vecchio. The location is very good but the hotel itself is dated, very tired looking & feeling. Our bedroom which was in a satellite bungalow was very dark with narrow access to the master bed, making a night time visit to the loo challenging! There was copious outside dining which looked nice but on the 8th October it was too chilly & the dining room was also rather dark & dingy. The menu was pretty pretentious with big price tags for modest food. We had booked for 3 nights but checked out after one, we couldnt face another night there. One to be avoided.

We stayed at the Belvedere Hotel for a week, but unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a persistent musty odor in the room, which lingered despite the room being seemingly clean. The situation was worsened by the presence of mold in the bathroom, making our stay unpleasant and unhygienic.

The breakfast offered was quite disappointing, with a very limited and unappetizing selection. This made our mornings less enjoyable, especially considering that breakfast is usually one of the highlights of the day.

On a positive note, I would like to mention that one of the ladies on the staff was very welcoming and kind to us, trying to make our stay as pleasant as possible despite the issues we encountered.

Unfortunately, due to the problems we experienced, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and hassle-free stay. Price is definitely not worth the hassle.

They did not respect the dinner reservation. We chose the hotel to have an amazing dinner there and it was really disappointing. We booked in advance the dinner, We did not get a nice table as requested even being guest of the hotel. The table in the water was empty in front of us the 2 hours we were there.
The Pulpe smelled bad and it was disgusting.
The restaurant has a lot to improve in the food, breakfast was also not good.
There was not enough staff in the bar, we took 25mins to get the drinks.
Really disappointed, old room, no wifi working and no access from parking.

Small room and old, run-down furniture - not in proportion to the high price that is being charged Service below average, with the exception of the breakfast service, which was excellent and friendly View of the bay is nice, as long as there are no ferries anchored in the harbor, then you can hear the constant hum of the engines and see the plume of exhaust fumes

The lobby where you check in smells like mold. The hotel is old and need’s repairs. The food is overpriced for a tourist destination. The doors to get in an out of the room are these heavy metal doors that slide. The air conditioner turned off in the middle of the night. The tech had to reboot the A/C in the morning. There is black mold in the shower!

Unfortunately this hotel is not what it seems in the photos. For €330 per night we were expecting good quality rooms and facilities. As seen from the photos the rooms are equivalent to a 2 star hotel. This hotels best days a definitely behind it. The rooms are poor and the pool area is in need of work. Everything look worn. It’s very overpriced for what it is.
