Le Roi Théodore in Porto-Vecchio

Unbelievable, I booked this 4 stars hotel for 5 days at a quite expensive rate. I arrived at the check in to be told the hotel was fully booked !!! Not acceptable for a 4 stars hotel to play with overbooking and with customers. I really recommend not to consider this place when staying in Porto Vecchio.

No way in my opinion this is a 4 star hotel. It's very average at best.
1. The building design is very aged and not thought through: the pool is in the middle with all the rooms facing it. Everyone can see everyone unless you keep your blinds shut all day. No privacy. No view of fantastic Corsican mountains or sea. You can really tell this hotel has never seen a designer! Plastic grass?! The style is like an old people's home.
2. Very far from the seaside- you have to drive.
3. Very poor 60s/70s refurbishment of the rooms. To be fair they look like they haven't been refurbished since hotel opened. Old furniture, all rooms have this very stale awful damp smell, similar to old people's smell. Aircon didn't solve the smell problem.
4. All staff at the hotel are women ( bar one teenage boy at breakfast). Hence if you need help with carrying your luggage, etc- you have to do it yourself, unless you give it to the 20 y.o. girls working there.
5. When asked at reception to be recommended some places of interest- they couldn't recommend anything except for 2 nearest beaches.
6. "spa" and "gym" are so tiny, they really push the "AND SPA" bit in their name.
