Excellent value for money hotel with friendly and welcoming staff.
Some of the negative reviews about facilities are a bit unfair. This is a budget hotel with basic facilities but is a great value for money option.
Rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is well sited near local shops. The Caen Memorial is also within walking visit which is a must visit while in Caen.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They offered to help with luggage to the room as there is no lift (although this is made clear when booking)

Yes it’s a ibis budget so expected the worse but it was poor by budget standards. The gentleman at the front desk was nice and the only redeeming factor but our room (we had two rooms) were beyond hot, it was awful. All we had was a small broken fan which I took downstairs to replace to be given a marginally better not so broken fan that shook and made loud noises all night long. We couldn’t open the windows as we were greeted by rubbish bags and litter on the grass which gave off a lovely smell.

Room was very basic but nothing to complain about for the price. A special thank you to Mohammad for his 5* service at the breakfast bar. Nice selection of breads, juices and cereal. Great value overall.

The attentiveness, of Sebastian, was amazing!!! We arrived late, for breakfast, so he opened up, for us & we enjoyed a great start to our holiday. He was so obliging & nothing was too much trouble. On our return trip he was there & it was so humbling to see his gestures of "From the heart." We use this hotel every time travel to France, via Caen, & can't believe it is only 2 stars, as rooms a clean, comfortable & breakfast is lovely.

Stayed and use Ibis on my tours of France, but this Ibis is tired and in need of a refit.. Staff were very friendly and helpful but my room was on the small side and with no air con sleep took a while to happen !! But I didn't pay a lot so you can't argue too much, used again on return to ferry and as it was cooler, was much better, but didn't change the fact it's tired. Secure car park was a plus.

Hotel reception looks lovely. It stops there. Rooms are like a cave. We fell over the bed as we opened the door to the most prison cell like room I’ve ever entered. A tiny corner window no Air Con and a furnace during August. Tiny TV. One small plug option. Shower head fitting was broke so shower head lay on ground. The room stank. One tiny flat pillow and tiny bath towel each. Even with window open the tiny broken fan that was provided did not reduce the temp in the room. We checked out after one night and went elsewhere.

Stayed there with family to explore the area around Caen before going to a Euro camp a bit further away. The accommodation is very basic. There aren’t even any kettles with coffee or tea inside the room, which most hotels have.
It’s very hot inside rooms during the summer nights. The fan they provide is noisy and doesn’t make the room cooler.
Positive things: the shower is very good and the receptionist is nice.
The most annoying thing about staying here was having some noisy English family (we are English too with kids, so nothing to do with a different nation or having children) staying opposite our rooms because their kids slammed the doors every minute between 7.45 and 8.30 am. Their family never told them even once not to do that. The doors don’t close softly, but make a lot of noise when let to shut itself. So if you’re staying there with kids, do tell them please to respect other guests and be quiet.

We used this Ibis as a stop over going south Usual Ibis stand Clean tidy neat and well run Now for the caveats Its dated and a little.....just a little past its prime The breakfast as usual is fine but its ridiculously small and confined Would we return Yes But with a small yes

Clean and easy
The hotel was fine - someone was there to check us in though we had been sent a code. The room was tidy and clean. The breakfast was simple but perfectly acceptable. Only down side was the couple having a screaming row outside our window for what seemed like an hour but there was no one around to ask them to stop as they would not stop when we asked

The manager gave us a warm welcome. He was extremely busy with a large school group but still somehow managed to tend to all the clientele almost single-handedly. The kids enjoyed watching the football on the big screen. The pizza, pasta, omelet and burger were all good. If you're looking for fast friendly service at a reasonable price this is the place. The buffet, however, did not tempt us.
