Where to stay in Dortmund

The hotel was clean and comfortable but the late night self check in was very slow.

Position of a hotel is very good, if one is comming with a car. I think that a rooms are small, withouth a desk, where one can put his laptop to work or to read (book, newspaper or something else). One has literally a possibility to either be in bed or to get out of a hotel. Bed is confortable and big enough. Everything is new. We stayed here for 4 nights and it’s a lovely hotel. Each and every staff is helpful felt like home. The only disadvantage is that it’s far from the central station. So if you don’t have a car, this place isn’t recommended even though it’s one of the best properties to stay in. They have happy hour (free) for hot chocolate and coffee and that’s very nice. While checking out this morning the manager at the hotel said the credit card Trip.com provided kept getting declined, so we were forced to pay twice. While I understand there was an issue with the trip.com payment, this should be handled by the hotel and the booking service. Or they should have alerted me earlier during my stay and not while I was about to check out with a travel connection that...

The maximum check-in time is 10pm and no one is allowed after that time… so if there is a train delay and we arrive after 10pm, it’s impossible, luckily I arrived at 9:45pm.

I have been a guest at this hotel for years and have always felt comfortable. Unfortunately, that has changed. The rooms are still OK, but some are pretty worn out. Breakfast is overpriced for the service! And the price shown when booking is not the final price, there is also 10% accommodation tax! You might as well include that! Parking costs money too, but half the parking lot is full of junk cars...

Very good standard, good walking distance to the city center

I do - however - usually sleep on my belly and without a pillow... thus I require an unusually hard mattress (which is almost never available anywhere). The world apparently consists of "back-sleepers" only. ;-)

I booked this place because it said it had parking. I did not expect the hotel parking to be free. However, when I got there they told me you have to book the parking in advance and that I can park in the paid parking across the boulevard which costs only 16 EUR / day. It ended up costing 31 EUR for 10 hours.

Great hotel, very nice any tidy rooms with working air-con. Absolutely can't fault it for that price. £15 hotel car park at the back. Young guy at the reception was great! Very friendly and helpful - top service!

Especially the location is great. It is near to central train station. Also, the cleaning is good. It is worth their price.

Well priced and close to the main square. Friendly staff and an adequate continental style breakfast. Decent coffee. Overall good base camp.

Very basic hotel by the football stadium. Simple clean rooms, perfect for overnight stay without frills. Convenient location next to train station, one stop from city centre .Friendly staff.Good breakfast. Good price for the facilities provided. Would choose this hotel again.

Close to the motorway, very clean hotel, pet friendly. When we arrived our room was cooled down and a/c was working. The bed is comfortable.

Our team consisted of about ten people attending the exhibition. There were five guest rooms, all very clean, with two bathrooms with showers and a separate small toilet. It was very safe. The host, Mike, was extremely welcoming and helped us resolve any issues we encountered in Germany. We were very grateful. Parking was also very convenient. In short, highly recommended!

Everything was great, communication with the hosts was seamless. We rented the entire house for the family, and everything we needed was there. Check-in and check-out were also super flexible, so we were able to sleep in after the wedding in the nearby pantry.

We went to Pension Martyniak with a group of 9 friends. The host (Mike) was super friendly and he even invited us over to the fireplace in the garden. The place is perfectly situated near the highway and very close to the city. Had a perfect time here and will come back again!

Nice place to stay if you are in search for a bed for one or two nights. You'll get a separate room and a common bath (lockable of course) and living room/kitchen area for everyone in the house. Price meets what you receive here. Surely not our last stay here. #hejabvb

The place was sparkling clean and spotless. Bathroom was clean and freshly renovated. Room was nice ce and cosy, with teapot and coffee machine and supplies to make tea and coffee (the cups were single use carton cups though). I even had a small balcony. Location is good. The bed was bad, matras was to worn for confort. The check in system could work if set up propperly, my room key dit not work, getting assistance was hard, finaly bij phone my room key was activated.

Great, convenient and cheap Easy to find. Right next to a station in order to get the subway to Signal Iduna Park. Christmas market literally 30 seconds away and a lush kebab place next door.

No face to face check-in. There is a machine at the door - you enter your surname and the main door and room key is dispensed. It’s about ten minutes walk from the Hbf - very comfy little room w.TV, shower, toilet - ideal for a quick overnight stay.

Clean and hygienic, close to the train station, with convenient dining options nearby.

The room floor could use a better cleaning, and the mattress was a bit soft. For a two-night stay, it was good value for money. The front desk staff were very friendly. If you're a female traveler and prefer not to stay in a mixed-gender dorm, you can ask at check-in if a female-only room is available. Overall, it was a good experience.

Quite a good hostel for this price. The room was fairly clean. The rooms are very small, but I think that’s normal for a hostel. The staff are friendly. It can be noisy in the evening, but it was quiet at night. On the first floor there are small lounge areas where you can play table football. There is also a coffee vending machine and free hot water. The location is very convenient.

For the price, it was really great. The only problem was that in the first room I was staying in. There was some people who had horrible smelling feet but then for the next nights, I asked to change the room and then it was perfect.

Decent hostel, very affordable and conveniently located. There's little to complain about
