Advantageous location for the ferry to Meersburg, with frequent buses to city center. A few restaurants and bars on the harbour allow for a relaxed dinner or drinks without going into town. Swim in the lake in a beach five minutes' walk away.
Breakfast nice, with dine homemade cakes. Rooms facing the street receive a lot of light from street lamps, so on hot summer nights one faces and unwelcome trade-off between darkness and a cool draft in deciding how much to close the blinds. A fan would help.

Neighborhood without charm for an establishment that has none. Very disappointing and certainly not worthy of a three star! Our room on the first floor had no view (see attached photos) except on the house opposite, the tiny garden with piled up bicycles of the gastehaus ... It was bearable but just enough time to sleep ! It is a possible place for an overnight stopover but certainly not for a stay. The problem is to have made us pay for the parking space for our car when there was no more parking space and we were made to park the car on a makeshift location !!!

We have spent a night in the Guesthouse Holzer, and were in retrospect, very glad that it was only ONE night!
Unfortunately, we have been at the time of booking the reviews. The room was a single room with extra bed, which we felt because of the simple equipment and with outdated furnishings with two small Windows under the roof as significantly overpriced.
In the case of the (early) arrival, the room was cleaned already done, but you directed us to wait again for the control of 30min. Since we have been astonished...., as it would be a 50-bed house, for sure you would have because you can react faster and more guest-friendly. Information on the location, etc. were answered only on demand, no courtesy!
The Breakfast buffet was unfortunately a BIG disappointment!!! The bread rolls were dry and tasteless, the bread slices and meager bowls with a few, lost strawberries, a little Quark pure, etc.
As one could have wished for in the may of significantly more fresh things like grapes, Grapefruit, tomatoes, cucumbers.....! The "muesli" was made up of yogurt and oatmeal, you should not have the name do not use!!!! Even the sight of the buffet was shockingly skinny and unloving. In addition, the Breakfast room in the bare, cool basement was and it is just one of the 2 outdoor courts. Of course, it was on time without a whimper the "buffet" cleared, without question, if you wish.
The summit of all, however, was the insolent, unfriendly and almost arrogant. No friendly word, no interest, no courtesy, instead, almost instructional words. Because virtually the language we stayed away!!!!! To ask whether we can stay in the Parking lot for a few hours would be, you have to ask yourself since not even married to!!!!

In terms of friendliness / hospitality, attention to Detail, and courtesy, there is still immense potential for improvement.
Here is a lot of experience in the hospitality seems to be missing trades!
We have found that there is all in all as an outrageous rip-off and a dizzyingly bad price-performance ratio!
Remains only to hope that the operator draws a few Lessons from this!

The Gästehaus Holzer I can only recommend. I haven't felt very comfortable there, this has a familiar athmosphere in a big house, or a hotel chain. It is very clean and has everything you need. I particularly love that you can use the very modern and high quality Spa as a hotel guest free of charge. Also the quiet location in the immediate vicinity of the lake is really super. If it draws me again to the lake of Constance, I will check in there again...

Our last holiday at the lake of Constance led us to the Guesthouse Holzer, and was a hit. We had booked for 7 nights in a double room to the garden with balcony. The room was very clean and had everything you need. A great big balcony with a table and 2 chairs. Double bed, TV Scharnk, armchair and table and bathroom. Well us dieFarbwahl has fallen of bed linen and towels that were folded as a heart on the bed.The Breakfast was great, fresh and very varied. For me as a Süßliebhaber especially the fresh waffles are great, for my wife the scrambled eggs. This there was every day in the exchange. Very nice also the fresh fruit or, for example, Pudding in small glasses. For us the location was perfect to reach by Bus or bike the town super. For us, the icing on the cake, the family atmosphere in the house. Mr. and Mrs. Holzer are always present, together with their two sons, and one easily falls into a nice conversation and gets good tips for trips in any weather. Conclusion: a super Hotel on lake Constance, we come in Hersbt again and make a Spa trip, the new Spa is very good and the massages top.

Bad Price-Performance Ratio. Used furniture and owners who do so as if they would result in a 5-star Hotel. Despite booking 7 months imVoraus we got the desired room.

Great vacation in the Gästehaus Holzer!
We have spent here with our family a great holiday. A large family room with lake view and balcony. Our children played in the afternoon at the newly refurbished garden and we were able to comfortably have a drink in the Lounge. The Breakfast offered each Morning with fresh fruit, muesli, Quark and Joguhrt, as well as sausage, cheese and fish. The bright tables and the leather chairs are well matched. Our room was large and very clean. This guest house is absolutely worth the money. Especially, since in the summer the indoor pool and the Sauna can be used. The operators are a young couple who put a lot of effort and are always up for a friendly conversation. Also the ladies in the Zimemrservice were always in the mood. We can recommend the Guesthouse Holzer, really, and some of the here mentioned points of criticism do not understand. We will definitely come back again.
