Where to stay in Konstanz

This wasn't our first time at this hotel, but unfortunately, the cleanliness has declined. At breakfast, some cups looked like they hadn't seen a dishwasher or weren't properly cleaned. We also noticed residues on plates and cutlery.

Customer-orientation of breakfast staff as well as afternoon/night front desk staff great. King room bed ok. Housekeeping could work better organized. Great value for prize, with breakfast and gym included.

All around pleasant experience. There’s friendly staff and nice selection at the breakfast. The main downside is the location. It’s quite far away from the center. However, you can get free public transport tickets at the reception, and the bus to the city center stops right infront of the hotel. Therefore the location isn’t a big issue.

There was a large spiderweb in the room, the curtains were stained, and there was a dead spider. The towels didn't smell fresh. The staff couldn't speak German, and their English was heavily accented, making it hard to understand.

Great proximity to car rental. It's located in an industrial area, but there are plenty of dining options and a supermarket nearby. Breakfast was good, though the Western options were quite basic. Rooms are a bit small. Keep windows shut to avoid bugs. Despite its roadside location, it was surprisingly quiet.

We loved our stay at the Riva with a Suite lake view. The room was comfortable and beautiful. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I loved the check-in drink and the evening treats from the housekeeping staff. Breakfast staff was also delicious with great options.

There's not enough superlatives in the English language to describe just how good the Riva Hotel really is. The staff were extremely efficient and polite, and attended to our every need. Be aware that some of the deluxe rooms do not have outside space. I was vey disappointed to find that my room did not have a balcony to enjoy the lake view despite paying the same (high price) as other rooms in this category that did have outdoor space. First of all, there is no parking option for your car. The only option you have is to park your car into a public parking place which costs 20 euro per day. (Hotel doesn't give you any discount). Very clean and price was very good. What we liked most was that the hotel was close to the old town. Check-out was until 12 o'clock so you can get some sleep next day. The hotel is in a great location for the price. It's only a 12 minute walk from Konstanz-Petershausen station, right on the Rhine River, and a pleasant walk to the Old Town. The hotel was generally good, and the room was clean and comfortable. However, there were some inconveniences. There was no kettle or water boiler in the room, so I had to go down to the lobby every time I wanted coffee or tea. Really good stay: nice room and good location (next to the bus stop Neuwerk). The hotel also provides the Bodensee Gastekarte, which can be used for public transportation. Only issue was with a dirty towel, but hotel staff was able to give me another one.

Location is perfect. You arrive by train and is just in front of the train station and that is the start of old town. 100mts away from Zalando outlet (convenient shopping) and Pano (good food, many options, good ambience and great prices) The hotel is beautiful. I would definitely come back.

We’ve stayed at this hotel around 40 times, and every visit reminds us why we keep coming back. The staff always make us feel genuinely welcomed, as if we’re returning home. The service is consistently excellent, the rooms are comfortable and spotless, and the atmosphere is relaxing every single time.

Located vis-a-vis the train station thus hotel is very nice and a stressless zone of the old town of constance. Shops and other restaurants very closed to it. Own restaurant offering Maroccan specialities is highly recommended (please reserve in advance).. we will.be back there for sure very soon!

I recently had the pleasure to return to the Hotel Halm for a seven night stay. The hotel is conveniently located across from the train station. It is also a short walk to shopping, restaurants, ferries and the lakeside promenade. My room was located on the fourth floor with a lake view. It was a very quiet room with no noise from the street. My only complaint with my room was the dodgy WIFI connection...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! We arrived by train from the airport and were so relieved to see the hotel directly across the street (and no we did not experience any noise from the trains at all). If you want to spoil yourself, you should check out Hotel Halm, it is gorgeous. The hotel has been around since 1878 and has been very well maintained. The rooms are large, ceilings high and beds comfy. Service was exceptional, and the breakfast buffet was amazing.

In its favour, the hotel is extremely well situated, a couple of minutes from the train station and 3 minutes from the centre. It’s clean and modern. Part from that, nothing special. Rather unfriendly.  Average breakfast. No kettle to make  tea and coffee in the bedroom. Snacks and drinks in the minibar overpriced.

Air condition was the important thing which was missing in the room. Ambient temperature was 34 degrees.

The room (303) was just perfect. It was spacious, the toilet was big, with a huge window for very good ventilation. The only knock was the small/inconvenient shower. But with a nice and cosy balcony overlooking the main street the room was just perfect. Their breakfast was a mediocre 6/10 but the seating area/space is really nice.

Exceptional hotel. Close to the car ferry. Very clean and quiet. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room includes a buss pass making it easy to get around and explore the beautiful surroundings. I loved waking up to the sunrise over the lake and watching the evening sky settle over the water. The parking was also easy. I appreciated the breakfast simple and delicious.

Nice with a caveat Nice hotel in a bustling area near the ferry dock. Very nice breakfast buffet (included), and a cool seafood store/restaurant next door. A bit loud due to the number of boaters, walkers and bicyclists that frequent the area. Parking situation is quite poor... had to hunt down a spot on neighborhood streets.

This hotel met expectations for a one-star hotel — everything is very basic. It’s an Ibis “Budget”. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable enough to sleep in. Reception service was also very basic and not particularly friendly.

A fantastic hotel in a great location, just a 10-minute walk from the train station. The breakfast was excellent, especially the egg rolls, perfect for Chinese palates. The hotel also has its own swimming area, perfect for a swim or just lounging. Highly recommended.

No baby bed was offered to us. Given the bed configuration in the room (two single beds pushed together), getting a baby to sleep isn't exactly easy. The beds, moreover, have mattresses that are too soft, and I think they're actually filled with water, which, beyond comfort, could be recommended. The bathroom doesn't have a door, so there's no room for privacy...

The room’s sound isolation was quite poor, and I struggled to sleep through the night due to constant noise from outside, the corridors, and the lift. The A/C noise is my ONLY complaint. There's a system that many of the rooms have that have A/C units that every minute or so buzz very loudly. Like the door buzzing when someone lets you into their old apartment building. I'm not picky and can sleep through a lot. This noise is loud. It's a nice hotel in an EXCELLENT location less than 5 mom on foot to Bodensee. It has a restaurant and bar which also hosts Check in for guests that arrive at late hours. Parking is a nightmare in the area as it is in a residential area and so you have to search a considerable amount of time to find something close to the hotel. Otherwise you have to park further away and take a bus to the hotel....

Excellent choice for short stay in Konstanz. Quiet pedestrian area on edge of old town 10 mins from station. Rooms not spacious but well equipped with draw and hanging space. Inclusion of breakfast a bonus but plenty of excellent bakeries/cafes around. Well pleased with our choice.

Overall, the experience was good. There was a minor hiccup during check-in on the first night; the staff couldn't find my reservation, but they were still very nice and gave me a large room. The next day, I went back to the front desk and they confirmed they had found my reservation. Apart from this minor issue, everything else was excellent. The staff was very patient and helpful.

The room was small, oddly laid out, and had two doors leading outside, which didn't feel very safe. The hygiene in the room is average. The breakfast was also average and the coffee was terrible.

Breakfast had plentiful choices. Free local bus/train pass was great. It covered a large area. Staff very helpful. Glass bathroom door was fine for me, being a solo traveller. Around 5-7mins walk from main station and the old town. I would happily stay here again.

Hotel by the lake, overlooking the Wallhausen marina. Lovely view, simple hotel but with what you need. Nice rooms, large and with a nice bathroom. It features an excellent restaurant with a quality menu and reasonable prices, a must try. The free parking is very useful, an advantage in the area.

After a week and a half of staying in chain hotels, this was a refreshing and charming change. It's in a very old building but the rooms are clean and modern. The single room with a private bathroom had a very small toilet, but apart from that it is excellent.
