I visited Borkum for a business trip and brought my mother along. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness that it transformed our entire experience.
A heartfelt thank you to Maria and Nourahin, who were not only incredibly kind but also went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Their support and friendliness made all the difference.
The breakfast buffet was another highlight. It was fresh, varied, and well-prepared every morning. The gentleman working there was also very pleasant, and even though I couldn’t communicate with him much in German, his kindness was clear.
The hotel itself was spotless. Every part of it, from our room to the common areas, was impeccably clean and well-maintained. That attention to detail made us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout our stay.
If you’re planning a visit to Borkum, I highly recommend staying here. It’s not just about the location or amenities, it’s the people that make it special.
Although the heating was initially set to 24°C, this temperature was nowhere near being reached. After we complained, the setting was increased to 28°C, and a technician was supposedly called in, but the radiators remained only lukewarm. As a solution, we were given a small space heater. The hotel made no further inquiries.
In the evening, we also asked for extra blankets, which were brought to us, making the night at least more bearable.
We were disappointed that despite the ongoing problem, there was no follow-up communication, and we weren't asked about our satisfaction at check-out. We would have appreciated better service and more attention to our guests.
We would love to come back to Borkum!
We found it a shame that the hotelier / receptionist usually ignores you and doesn't even get a "good morning" back. Should a hotel be interested in offering its visitors a good start to their day / holiday. For breakfast it can be said that you are greeted more warmly there and that the necessary things are also available. For us it was the first and last time.
