Hotel la Scala in Gelsenkirchen

Very nice small hotel in an Italian ambiance in combination with a restaurant. Sublime service, with the staff asking every day if everything is according to our wishes. Staff speaks German, English, Dutch and Italian.
We haven't had the chance to eat at the restaurant because we were on the road. The buffet style breakfast at the restaurant has everything you need.
I recommend coming here by car. The hotel is within driving distance of some local highlights such as Movie Park Germany, Oberhausen and Dortmund.
I would very much recommend this hotel if you are looking for a very nice place to stay that is not too expensive.

Great food. We enjoyed our time also as guests of their hotel. The breakfast an dinner was great, rooms were clean but hot (no airco) . One thing we can recommend: take car of all your guests for the 100 procent. One of the owners really took care of all guests except us and that did not feel as hostmanahip

Service:
Could be more attentive. And i only give 3 because at the end of our dinner we ordered 2 Americano. The waiter brought us 2 cocktails called americano but we wanted the coffee americano. He then said we should have told him that we mean the coffee. I don't know any cocktail called americano and wherever i ordered one i always got the coffee. It is his job to awk if he isn't sure and knowing there are 2 types of americano. He tried to be funny by saying that he has to drink them ( being funny is not his strong side) and next time we should say what we mean. Sorry i am not working there. It's his job to male sure he brings the correct thing
Food:
Couple of steaks ( beef and lamb) and pasta.
All very good and tender. For the steak with the balsamico sauce a bit less sauce would have been even better. Still a good steak though. Panna cotta was ok but had better ones.

Everything was perfect. If I were forced to find one thing that was wrong is that the chips in the mini bar were expired but they still tasted fine. Great restaurant, welcoming staff, comfortable room that was spotless, I felt like I was in Italy, not in Germany, which was exactly what I needed. I want to live in room Palermo but I cannot, sadly. Great place. Clean and cozy room. The restaurant was even better. The service gave us a table even though the restaurant had a "menu" night. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable.. Cheaper than many bad restaurants in Germany. The service was probably the best. Real waiters that know how to treat the customer. I worked in Restaurants for over ten years and can only recommend this place. Excellent.

Delicious. Lovely staff and great food. I had the steak and my friend the pizza. We both had a delicious meal. I will definetely return again. We had not booked a table, but they manager to squeeze in, so i would reccomend you book before you go. The food was delicious and next time i will try the pasta.

The Hotel is from the outside a small family. The rooms are new and nicely equipped. The showers could be cleaned a little better, but that is in almost every Hotel so. The Breakfast is small but sufficient, in my opinion. In the evening the Restaurant is always full (except Mondays, as a day of rest). The food is great, and the operation, as well as all the other staff very polite. I look forward to more visits

The best Restaurant in the Ruhr area. Here, it is just right, if you want to change the fine cuisine. From fish To Lasagne here, everything is just right. Excellent Cuisine. Super Operation. Just feel good! Whether chick or casual here, every guest is welcome. Also the rooms are very clean and beautiful. The Breakfast is very varied. Simply only recommendable!

Super Location. Hosts, staff and food top. Rooms given the price - performance ratio, recommended. Tip do not share , because otherwise you could not get more space. :-)

Nice Italian Restaurant that is well frequented, and you should reserve a table.
The food, such as meat and pasta was always delicious and as ordered prepared. Pizzas, however, I have elsewhere already better eaten. Also the dishes with cream sauce were sometimes a bit overloaded.

Despite all of this, you can spend a nice evening. =)
