Hotel Zum Rehberg in Kastellaun

When we areived we were welcomed by a cosy bourgondic hotel. İt looked nice and traditional German. At the reception we were already welcomed by a fruitbowl full of fruitflies.

When we were in the room.
The room was totally not what we expected it to be. İt could be the attic of my great grand mother... Who then died in this room. İt smells so dry like for years there is not cleaned and neither a window was opened. All images made are from rooms which looked better.
We have an attic room which also makes the room look very different. The room is full of carpet and textile which is very unhygenic. There are so many cushions and pillows which İ prefer not to touch and İ do not dare to take my shoes off. Even the table cloths are having stains which do not appeal right to me.

İ understand this might be what we payed for but hygiene is something to really look at here.

When it rains it really smells like sewer. Especially the bathroom. We rather stayed dirty than shower and or use the towels to be fair.

We will definatly not go back.

Stay far away! Landlady was shouting at us, she was HITTING a teenaged guest who was struggling to open his door with the token! Denied giving us some water because it was nighttime (only one water in double room), dragged my pillow and blanket on the floor, pushed them in my hands and slammed the door in my face. She was pulling the door handle to close the door when I tried to speak with her! Never seen anything like this before. The owner of this business has a serious problem.

Be aware of this Hotel! They will try to charge you with non-sense prices and talk to guests in inappropriate way. I especially do not recommend for single travellers.

Very simple in a rural type hotel, rooms are small without extra amenities for guests. The floor in the rooms is not covered therefore the cold is not the hospitable kind of rooms. The staff is friendly. But room cleaning intrusively breaks in every morning, despite the sign does not bother.
Hotel is located in a quiet place.
