The hotel features a wide range of room types from Economy Single rooms to Deluxe Suites, accommodating different traveler needs. Guests highlight the hotel's traditional charm combined with modern amenities such as WiFi, parking, and a restaurant serving generous portions of German cuisine. The hotel maintains a high cleanliness rating of 9/10 and offers services including concierge, luggage storage, and hiking opportunities nearby. While the building preserves its historic character, some guests note dated bathroom fixtures and the absence of English TV channels. Breakfast is frequently praised for its variety and quality, often described as excellent with selections like smoked salmon and freshly baked croissants. The hotel’s service scores consistently at 9/10, reflecting friendly and helpful staff. However, some guests mention challenges with late check-in procedures and room features such as shower-in-tub setups and lack of air conditioning controls.

It's a nice traditional place, very well located in the old town. Very clean but not very modern, and with a shower-in-tub arrangement that was difficult to deal with and felt quite dangerous. Absolutely lovely breakfast room and excellent breakfast. Very good food and huge portions in the hotel restaurant. No English TV at all, not even CNN or BBC, so that was a disappointment,

It's fine , just a normal hotel nice breakfast buffet but that's about it , pillows were WAY TOO FLAT but it's okay. Enjoyed my stay

Stay away. The photos you see here do not reflect the quality of the rooms. Our room was small. Clean, no doubt, but only with the very essential. The reception desk is not occupied after 9.30 pm. Would it not have been for some friendly guests which helped us get in and find a phone to call the some clerk, we would have stayed outside the hotel. Verycstrange for a hotel where you have prebooked a room.

Had a great stay

Very nice location right in the old town. Public parking at affordable rates available very close by. On the downside, the room was advertised as having air conditioning. It looks like it had in the past and that the thermostat controls had been removed.

We like that this historic was rescued from decay by an extensive renovation in the mid 1990's. We loved having a bath tub as well as a shower. We loved the big comfortable bed. We loved the location in the town centre. Most of all we enjoyed the excellent German breakfast, with Sekt, smoked salmon and proper freshly-baked croissant amongst the offerings. We didn't like our top floor room being under the eves of the roof. The sloping ceiling meant having to duck in order to get into bed. We found the 1990's fixtures and fittings a bit dated, including the thick, small-screen 'flat' TV. There was no kettle in the room to make tea/coffee. The hotel would have been fantastic when it re-opened 30 years ago, but today it feels 'tired'. There were some unpleasant smells between the reception desk and a back entrance through which we inadvertently entered the property on arrival We paid 93 euros for a Monday overnight stay in low-season mid March, for bed and breakfast, and are glad we didn't pay any more than that,

Stayed just for night on the way to Berlin. The hotel is right in the center of the city- we had issue finding a way to drive close to it, in the end we parked few minutes walk which was okay for us. Room was very nice, spacious and clean. Had everything one needed. We had an issue to get into the hotel as we arrived late- apparently there is no one in the hotel after 18 which is not mentioned anywhere. We did get a call from hotel around that time and they gave instructions on what to do- but the whole situation was strange.
Breakfast was very very very good- all of high quality, good choice. All in all i can recommend it.

Although hidden at the square the hotel is a gem among hotels. Meissen is a film set for historical movies. If you find it hard to find a proper hotel in Dresden, I recommend Meissen at a half hour by train, especially if you like porcelain

Great place to stay. The only problem is Church bell at 7 am...

The room was clean and roomy, especially the bathroom. The location is excellent. The beds were too hard for my taste.

The city of Meißen was wonderful - picturesque and peaceful. And the Hotel Residenz am Markt was in the perfect location next to the Frauenkirche with its porcelain bells. Friendly service, clean and pretty room, comfortable bed, large bathroom. Nice breakfast buffet, good coffee and a nice Café as well. Highly recommended!

So I don't even know properly what should I rate? The Café or the Hotel?
Hotel - very nice rooms in the old town of Meißen. Central as it gets, almost. Very good Breakfast in the premises of the cafes.Very nice staff. Only with the car, it is a little difficult to accommodate.
Café - Very good cakes, coffee specialities and in the front part (to the market) a nice coffee house atmosphere. Highly recommend to you.
Anywhere interesting art.
