Perfect location! Beautiful view of the city, a great Italian restaurant nearby, friendly hosts and unique accommodation.

We booked the Areal Apart Hotel Wasserturm in advance for our visit to the Santiano concert, as it's located directly opposite the Kalkberg Arena and therefore ideally situated.

We booked a Deluxe Tower Room, which is located on the 5th and 6th floors and varies slightly in terms of amenities. We were given the room on the 6th floor, at the very top of the tower. It has a second level with a gallery; the living and sleeping area is downstairs, while upstairs there's a toilet, sink, shower, and a large freestanding bathtub. There are fantastic views in all directions, and we were even able to listen to the soundcheck before the concert. A bakery, several restaurants, and the Noctalis Bat World are also nearby.

A traditional breakfast isn't offered here. You can order a small breakfast to be delivered to your room. Alternatively, you can bring your own cold cuts and buy rolls from the nearby bakery.

Very comfy beds, big sofa, 2 TV sets in my appartment, all in all beautifully furnished and well kept. Very well balanced, charming mix of ancient house and modern interior. Just a minute walk away from city center and supermarkets. Next to Noctalis (bat discovery tours) and the great outdoor stage of the annual Karl May-Festivals. Free parking on property. Looking forward for coming back soon👍

If you're planning to stay overnight at the Karl May Festival in Bad Segeberg, this is a great place to stay! The rooms are beautifully furnished, and (almost) everything you need is there. Unfortunately, we missed a second armchair. There was/is only one armchair, so the second person has to make do with a kitchen chair or a bench. Nevertheless, we've already booked again for next year.

I’ve stayed at a few hotels, but this one was particularly special. It’s not your ordinary hotel and the restoration of this has been made with respect to the heritage of the building. It’s modern, chic, boutique’sk and very though through with lot’s of attention to detail.

Nice little hotel, one does not suspect a hotel here, but it is one and is visible from everywhere in the city, not a financing, the Segeberg water tower was built in the years 1907 to 1910 near the Kalkberg. Until 1977 it served Bad Segeberg as a guarantee for balanced water pressure, then it stood empty for years. In 1988 it was placed under a preservation order. The Segeberg architect H.T. Teege designed the almost 35 m high water tower. The building has a circular floor plan and was built using brick. The substructure initially tapers conically towards the top. The construction is slightly widened in the area of ​​the water tank. The tower is completed by a tiled, conical roof with a copper tip. The upper part originally contained a Barkhausen water tank with a capacity of 200 m³. This container with a hemispherical container bottom no longer needs a support ring and therefore represents a step forward compared to the older designs such as loft containers or Intze containers. Before 1910, Segeberg's water supply came from decentralized wells to which 12 to 21 house communities were connected. The wells were operated by pumping companies or sod communities. The city watched over the hygiene. After 1910 the construction of the waterworks with water tower allowed a central water supply. However, since there was no compulsion to connect to the water pipe in Segeberg, many wells have been preserved. It was not until the late 1920s that the last of them were shut down. After a foreclosure auction in 1997, a real estate agent bought the building for DM 93,000. For this purpose, the tower was completely gutted in order to draw in new levels. The steel plates were removed from the water tank, the L-profiles were retained for the static protection of the building. Inside, a stair tower has been rebuilt and a steel spindle has been drawn in. A hydraulic rope elevator extends to the fourth level. The architects W. Becker, Schoßmacher and Jungk were involved in the two-year renovation and expansion.
