Bard De Sol in Mykonos City

We stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon. The room itself was beautiful and well-kept, but unfortunately, we experienced a significant issue during our stay. Our room (#105) had a connecting door to the neighboring room. I’m not sure how the layout was on the other side, but we could hear absolutely everything from next door — from the sound of a can being opened to phone notification pings. It was impossible to sleep well, both at night and in the morning, because every noise came through so clearly. It was honestly frustrating and uncomfortable to hear things you simply don’t want to hear. When we started hearing bed noises, we immediately called the reception to ask if there was any alternative room available. However, since the hotel was fully booked, they couldn’t offer us another room, nor did they offer any form of compensation. This isn’t just about sleep deprivation (we walk up everytime there's bathroom noises, which again to the level you don't want to hear), but also about privacy. Of course, we don’t blame the guests next door — it’s clearly an issue with the connecting door, which seems to have little to no soundproofing (more like a curtain than a wall). We truly hope the hotel addresses this issue, as it’s unacceptable given the room rate. We wanted to speak directly to someone about it, but no staff were present at reception for the remainder of our stay — not even when we checked out. (Interestingly, at the reception desk we did notice a piece of paper showing 2 available rooms the night before.) Leaving this honest review in hopes it helps the hotel improve — the experience would have been wonderful if not for this serious privacy and soundproofing issue.
