Cavo Tagoo Hotel in Mykonos City

We stayed at Cavo Tagoo for five nights and it was the perfect Mykonos home base. The property sits on a cliff above the old port, with an infinity pool that seems to float above the Aegean. Our room had a private pool with the best sunset views on the island — better than anywhere we went out for sunset, honestly.

Two things made Cavo Tagoo exceptional in a practical sense: the WhatsApp concierge (cancel a dinner, book a new reservation, ask for a recommendation — all instantly through a text message) and the free shuttle that runs to and from Mykonos Town every night from 7pm to 7am. On an island where logistics can quickly become a headache, that shuttle is worth more than any other amenity. The hotel also offers airport transfers and rides anywhere on the island at comparable-to-Uber pricing.

Meraki, the on-property restaurant, serves one of the best breakfasts we’ve had anywhere — beautiful views, great food, the kind of place you linger over coffee for two hours. And being connected to Zuma was a genuine highlight: the crab salad alone is worth the trip, the sushi was world-class, and the evening evolves from sophisticated dinner into something more as the night goes on.

One fun quirk: the hotel sits right on the road, so you occasionally see cars and people passing by. It sounds odd but it actually added energy — you feel connected to the pulse of Mykonos rather than removed from it.

For couples or groups looking for a luxury Mykonos experience with great logistics and a direct connection to one of the best restaurants on the island — Cavo Tagoo is the answer.

The service here is impeccable. There is an abundance of staff to ensure every need is met quickly, and the beautifully dressed hostesses really elevate the experience. What stood out most was the personalized attention to detail—they remembered my name and room number after just one day, making the stay feel incredibly welcoming.

The rooms themselves are spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. The private balcony is a major highlight, offering a great sense of privacy while delivering the same stunning, sweeping views you get from the main areas of the property.

When it comes to dining and amenities, the hotel absolutely delivers. The morning breakfast spread offers plenty of excellent choices, and the on-site gym is more than sufficient for a holiday workout. At night, the vibe shifts beautifully as the space transforms into a fancy, high-end restaurant.

If there is one minor quirk, it's the soundtrack. The hotel plays the same type of music all day long, every day. While it certainly fits the Mykonos beach-club vibe, a little more variety wouldn't hurt.

Amazing! It's hard to find a hotel like this. I've stayed at many hotels, including the Hotel de Paris in Monaco, but this one is truly one of the best in the world for Instagrammability.

Being named one of Europe's 100 Luxury Hotels of 2025, I had high hopes for it, but unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. The location is excellent, a 10-minute walk from the city center with a free shuttle. The rooms are decent, with a small pool. For HK$24,000 a night, the service is completely out of line with the price. Cleaning and room service are excellent, and the restaurant staff are professional. However, the concierge service is extremely unprofessional. If you ask them for a restaurant reservation, they clearly look incredibly reluctant to help. I asked for the free shuttle, and they said they didn't have a car and couldn't help me. I could call a taxi. Suddenly, another person appeared, saying they had a car available and could leave. This is not a five-star hotel at all. Also, the gym is tiny, and the pool is actually quite small, but the view of the sunset is beautiful and a must-see. The food in the hotel restaurant is excellent, but extremely expensive: a fruit platter for 40 euros, king prawn pasta for 55 euros, and roasted lamb shanks for 140 euros.
