Hydroussa Hotel in Hydra

Charming hotel and pretty central to everything. Staff are also friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was at the courtyard (lovely!) but in terms of variety, could be improved. Nevertheless we had a pleasant stay.

Fresh, clean, magnificent breakfast (the coffee-machine and I became best friends) fantastic staff, friendly and funny. And cats, cats all over the place. The breakfast staff had one person dedicated to chase cats out of the place all morning. She did do a great job. (Cats are, however, not an endemic problem for this hotel, the entire island is flooded with cats and donkeys, so, do not go to Hydra if you are allergic to cats.) Love the place.

Really a 4 star. This hotel is tremendous with its renovation! And excellent service!

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. When I checked in , I thought I had paid a lot for it however there is a real charm with this hotel and basically all of Hydra is expensive so it’s probably inline. The room was modern, refurbished and clean. The very smiley Spiros on reception was kind enough to carry my bag up as there is no lift in the property. The breakfast in the courtyard is decent and the courtyard is delightful. What really made this stay special was the wonderful Nefeli. She is a real credit to the owners of this hotel and you should hold onto her as staff like this are hard to find. She was so incredibly helpful to me. She spent a long time helping me plan restaurants, beaches and giving me general information. She speaks perfect English and it was her who made our stay memorable. Thanks Nefeli!

Do not let the 3 stars stop you from booking at this hotel - it is absolutely amazing. The hotel location is perfect - not too far from the port and is good for people who cannot walk too long up and down the island. The rooms are spacious and historic - each room has its own vibe and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast at the hotel is delicious and you are able to have it in the charming courtyard. The staff of the hotel, from the amazing receptionists Nefeli and Spiros, to the restaurant staff, Magda, have all been so welcoming and so helpful. We spent 6 days and would spend the whole summer if we could on this beautiful island and in this wonderful hotel. I would highly recommend this place for those who are visiting with elderly parents and with kids. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

An excellent hotel ! And a big thank you for finding me a room when another hotel let me down! Reception staff were polite and helpful , rooms were well equipped comfortable and traditionally furnished. Coffee making facilities are provided , with a comfy bed , efficient air conditioning and fast wifi. A nice buffet breakfast was included in my room rate , much of the time breakfast can be eaten in the courtyard Location excellent , about five minutes walk , with no steps , from the port , so quiet but very convenient. There are lots of places to eat on Hydra , so didn’t try dinner at the hotel. All in all a great place to stay , and I would happily return !

This is a very lovely friendly hotel in a great position a few minutes walk from the port. Very well appointed room with a small but well designed bathroom. Lovely breakfast in the courtyard and then a wonderfully friendly cocktail in the evenings

Wonderful experience at Hydroussa Hotel! From the very first moment, we felt genuine courtesy and care in an environment full of light and elegance. The rooms were spotless, and the staff was exceptional – always smiling, kind, and ready to help. We highly recommend it without a second thought!

Hydroussa Hotel is right in the middle of Hydra town – a perfect location! It’s a beautiful old family estate that has been turned into a hotel, and you can really feel the history. Some parts of the building, like the room opposite the reception, are even kept as a little museum.

The hotel has a modern and comfortable style inside, which is a nice contrast to the traditional houses of Hydra. We asked for a double bed, and even though it was made from two twin beds, we never felt the gap. We slept very well!

The rooms are super clean, air-conditioned, and come with a small fridge and a safe. The doors and windows are soundproof, and the bathroom, while a little tight for my taste, had great water pressure and nice toiletries.

Breakfast was also very good, with a variety of cheeses, cold cuts, eggs, cakes, and drinks. You can enjoy it inside or in the lovely courtyard.

But the best part? The staff! They were incredibly kind, polite, and always smiling. They did everything to make our stay perfect. Every request was met with a friendly “yes,” which really added to the warm Greek hospitality.

This is now “our” family hotel, and we can’t wait to come back!
