Terra Mare Hotel in Lixouri

I've come to Greece many times over the years, but this is my favorite place to stay and my favorite island. Terra Mare Resort is "simple luxury" with an owner (Nicos) who cares. The large property has trees full of oranges, lemons and loquats, an amazing pool and overlooks beautiful Livadi Bay. Lixouri town is only a few minutes away by car and a ferry across the bay to Argostoli is only 3 euros. Nicos' rates are way too low and breakfast is included. The ONLY thing I'd change is to convert that unused tennis court into a pickleball court Nicos :)

We enjoyed our stay at this place more than we would have ever expected. It was mainly due to the owner, Nicos, who is a kind, charismatic and skillful man with a big heart. The accommodation is set in large grounds where everyone can find their privacy and own cosy, tidy and clean room. The curtains can create complete darkness during the night and it's possible to use the AC on a hot summer day. We have always had a great night's sleep here. In the lunge area, where you can have a drink or find anything you need, we met some hotel guests who have been coming back for years. This is definetely a sign that the hotel is worthy of a return visit.

Nikos, the owner, was extremely accommodating from start to finish. Our flight was delayed meaning we arrived at the hotel at 2:30am yet Nikos stayed up to ensure we arrived safe and sound. He helped us hire a car, gave us advice on where to go and what to do as well as restaurants/bars he liked. Very clean and neat. Room had everything we needed and even a balcony (surrounded by orange trees). Very big pool with decent view of the hills. 10 minute drive to the nearest town Lixouri which has shops, restaurants, bars, and a ferry service to Argostoli, another town with similar amenities. We will be back purely to see Nikos again! P.S. if you want one of the best meals of your life, please eat at "the corner" restaurant in Lixouri, we ate there multiple times and were consistently impressed.

What a great Hotel with Nikos as your host who couldn't do enough to make your stay even more enjoyable. The hotel is basic but the rooms have all the facilities that you require including air conditioning in the bedrooms. We were not supposed to be staying at the hotel but so glad we did. If you are on the island pay Nikos a visit and I am sure he will look after you .

Immaculate, air conditioned comfortable rooms, friendly, efficient staff. Manager is very helpful and friendly. The level of quality and attention to detail is a lovely touch. Huge pool with plenty of sun loungers, pool bar and all kept very clean..

Clean room, very friendly staff (special mention for Nikos and his lovely daughter), very tasty typical Greek food! Garden and pool are a plus (especially in long hot summer days)! I will definitely recommend and come back!

You won't find a more pleasant host than Nikos and his family in all of Kefalonia. Great complex with all the facilities and a hospitality that will make you return over and over again.

We stayed at Terra Mare 3 years ago and we really enjoyed it.
Due to the place being busy, we couldn't get a space to stay this time.
Howerver, the owner Niko and his family run the business.
We loved the place and the service so much, that we had to come in just to say hello.
I had a coffee and a water on the house,

Next year for sure, we will sary with them.

The hotel has a lot of rooms. The room, where we stayed, has comfortable bed and clean bathroom with a great view. The owner and the employees of the hotel are friendly. We faced an insignificant problem during our stay and the owner gave us an immediate solution and help. The pool is clean. Moreover, you can enjoy breakfast, coffee and meal during your stay. The hotel is near to Lixouri. The hotel is a little bit old but this is not a problem to your staying.
