Alkion Hotel Sidari in Sidari

We ate here 4 out of our 7 nights. Its a buffet style eat all you like. For €10 the food is outstanding, great salad area. Usually choice of 3 meats and sides, and different dessert. I don't know how they do it for the money. Fantastic

We had a lovely week at this hotel, no complaints whatsoever. Location was perfect, every single staff member we encountered was happy, friendly, welcoming and just in general-great! The hotel was kept spotless, the drinks and food were lovely and reasonably priced. We didn’t stay for any of the evening entertainment which I did want to but we are early nighters and everything started at 10pm. The hotel always seemed full when we got back at night, so very popular. The pool area was always busy, we are always out first thing and didn’t really witness sunbed hogging, bums were on beds most of the time. A variety of music was played through the day which was nice. I was worried about the pool comments but the new tiles are beige rather than usual blue so I think this had something to do with the colour, rather than any other reason. The water was clear. I would love to stay at this hotel again but I wouldn’t come on a half board basis, and the price has risen quite a bit to include this which is a shame. We didn’t take up the buffet option at night though a lot did as we prefer to eat out and about. Breakfast was fine the same every day with a change of egg style. I don’t like a full English every day anyway and I loved the well done bacon, so no complaints about that.

Lovely friendly hotel. Location is great , very central to both Sidari centre and Canal Damour , everything in walking distance. Atmosphere, really friendly fun place. Rooms a little small but comfortable and kept spotless. Breakfast was really not good, that's the only negative really . Great family run hotel, all staff really helpful . We had a good week , it wasn't our 1st visit . They only really need to improve the quality of the breakfast and this would be a brilliant place to stay. Lots of returning guests , so they are obviously getting it right in all other areas .

My son and I have not long been back (Sunday 7th) As usual staff were friendly and pleasant (they all work very hard) This was our 3rd time at Alkion (Alkyon) Alas, I fear it maybe our last. With a recent hotel exclusivity from Jet2 (maybe also called greed) They have decided to make this hotel 'Half board' only. Previous years have been B&B/HB. Not giving people a choice and containing them within the hotel to eat is not a good way to go Jet2. There are many fine restaurants nearby. Making people pay for food within hotel or spending extra to go out ontop of the forced HB price is in my eyes severly detrimental. Sometimes people need to experience other places. I will be contacting J2 directly and stressing with them my above comments. I have also spoken to other holiday makers regarding this while I was there. They too seemed a little perturbed. Several changed have also been made since the J2 exclusivity. Rooms fitted with new double glazing New curtains/Nets Fresh paint in rooms Pool safety including; Reduction of depth, Safety barriers around childrens pool, Hand rail at pool steps. Ladder removed at far left end? (not required due to new depth?) Please note several people had jumped in the pool and hit bottom due to knowledge pool was deeper previous years. The pool is now ONLY 1.45metres deep. Take this into account if you visit. There are NO warnings only small tags around the edges. The pol itself does look green This is due to the new lining fitted during close down. The water is safe! People are complaining saying it isn't, Ignore it. I have been told it will be addressed ready for next year. Another gripe I do have and have mentioned to reps, on accasion is the fact people can/do smoke in the external food area. Typical smokers mentality. "I've eaten, now i'm smoking even thought you are still eating" It is encouraged by ash trays on the tables. I was told it is outside by rep. However I disagree. Under a roof, Windows down one side albeit opened. Smoking should not be allowed in that area with other non smokers, including children end of!!! Over all a decend stay, apart from the huge thunderstorms ;) No powercuts this year though. I think Alkion finally got themselves a new Generator! Its a shame I don't think i'll be going back. If J2 are forcing us to eat indoors and pay extra if you want to go out for a change. J2 may have lost my custom. Very disheartening....Sidari is very safe. It is not a complex like it would be in Turkey, Egypt or Mexico etc I'm hoping this post gets tagged and seen by J2, I really do. Because it's not only myself that feels this way. I've been using you for a long time now it saddens me to think this maybe the end. Do better J2, do better!

Seven enjoyable days at hotel. Its not grand but it is a cheery holiday focused hotel. Came with jet2 who seem to have majority of customers, mostly British. Went Half Board. Room spacious. Bed comfortable. Balcony overlooked back of hotel. Bit of mixed view, some nice hills, some run down bits. Nothing to worry about. Shower let down room needs upgraded. Fridge from 70's but now not getting charged for. Paid for air conditioning. Did use safe at Front Desk, very straight forward. Food at breakfast was bit samey but ok for a week. Eggs, sausages, mushrooms etc. . Limited breads/rolls. You wont go hungry. Bigger choice for Evening meal usually 5/6 choices. Pretty decent. Entertainment good. As always some you like some you dont. Greek night excellent fun. Played the bingo on Sunday. Went out nights didn't fancy act. Drinks priced same as local bars. Mythos beer in bottle very good. Range of 6 euro cocktails. Never heard any complaints. Pool certainly has green tint but seemed fine. Always got a comfy sunbed. Staff all round friendly. Cleaners efficient. Hotel kept clean though areas need refurbished. Decent amount of books in library on stairs to room. Only negative seemed to get insect bites steady over week. At £1200 for a couple half board with good flight times the Holiday was value.

We have just returned from our 2025 stay at the Alkion hotel. The staff are absolutely amazing and cannot do enough for you. Beds are comfortable and the rooms are cleaned daily. Cocktails and food from the bar are amazing. We booked bed and breakfast but paid 10€ each a couple of evenings to use the hotel dinner buffet which has a great selection to choose from. We read reviews saying the pool was green but it’s the reflection of the sun on the new tiles and there is a pool guy checking it regularly. We had an amazing week and we will be back. Thank

First time to this hotel, but 10th time to sidari, and I have to say this was the best place Iv stayed , and already booked for next year, from the moment we arrived (me, my teenage daughter, and son his partner in there early 20s), We were greeted with warm welcomes from reception. Room was small but adequate and everything we needed, hair dryer, kettle, fridge. Aircon extra cost but well worth it , and worked perfectly. The cleaner was daily, with fresh towels practically everyday. Although pool looked green , think it was more to do with the new tiles and the sun reflecting, as we saw it being checked regularly. The bar staff and the girls waitresses during the day were friendly , happy nothing to much trouble , cocktails were yummy and well worth the money, Happy hour, between 4-5pm every day, where u got € off. Evening entertainment was good fun, with tribute acts most nights, Greek nights was one of the best Iv been to in sidari, bingo on a Sunday is not to missed, jackpot hitting 2,300€… Location is perfect,5minute work to the main strip and beach, and in the other direction 5 min walk to canal d’amour. All in all we had a fantastic time, been back a week, and already booked for next year, the count down is on 😊😊

Just the best place, the family that own the Alkion are amazing there’s nothing that they wouldn’t do to make sure everyone’s holiday is the best it can be! The team that work at the Alkion are amazing from the bartenders- Damien, Christos, the Two lads in the morning and day time (sorry can’t remember names 😢) and the girls who are serving. All exceptional. The Chefs are amazing and always around and will assist with any questions or special dietary needs (eg children’s food/ allergies) the food is spot on, we always visit half board, breakfast is perfect a selection of warm foods and a selection of pastries and cereal. The reception team are all great, so informative if you ever need anything and always on hand for any needs, and it’s great that it is 24 hrs. The rooms are always so clean and have a hairdryer and kettle. Sidari is a gorgeous place and we love returning year after year, the Alkion is located perfectly so that it’s quiet and off the main strip but it’s around a 3-5 minute walk. We love the canal de amor area, brilliant cocktail bars and lovely restaurants. If you are considering Sidari, this hotel is just perfect.
