Santa Marina Hotel in Agios Nikitas

We thought the Santa Marina was an excellent hotel. Exceptionally clean, the room was very comfortable, lovely comfy beds and nice pillows. The towels were nice too. The bathroom had recently been refurbished, but the shower still leaked and we had to put a small towel on the floor! That's not uncommon in Greek bathrooms though, in our experience! Our balcony had a nice view down to the sea and it was lovely to sit there in the evening. The breakfast was good, our only complaint was the lack of choice of fruit - watermelon (which I don't like) or tinned peaches every day. We ate at the hotel three times and the dinner buffet was excellent, good quality and a wide choice. The air conditioning in the restaurant made it very cold, we preferred to sit outside on the terrace with a lovely view. However for those who chose to eat inside there was lovely gently music playing. We found the staff all to be friendly and helpful. The only thing that slightly spoiled our holiday was that there was a family with a small child (under two) who was a screamer, we could often hear it screaming from our room, and also late afternoons by the pool the family were always there. We like peace and quiet when on holiday. We didn't go on the beach in Agios Nikitas as it was too crowded, and I felt the walk to Milos beach would be too much for me, but fortunately we had a hire car and were able to drive to other places. But I must warn people - Lefkada is a very crowded island, even in September. The roads down to the west coast beaches were always rammed with parked cars, and if you met something coming the other way it could be very tricky indeed. Lefkada is a stunningly beautiful island, and the Santa Marina is a great hotel, but if you don't like busy places probably better to choose another island.

Great location for a beach holiday in Lefkada! The room was clean, the area was peaceful, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, excellent value for money. Unfortunately, we had to leave one day earlier due to the heat and some wasps, and we couldn’t get a refund since the booking was non-refundable – but that’s understandable. Still, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

Everything is great.... rooms are very clean and staff is super polite! only flaw is food.... not enough choise and very repetative....

Nice hotel, very clean pool area and pool, also pool is warm, staff are friendly, beds are very comfy, very steep hill so car hire is a big plus, rooms tidy and fresh linen as you like it.

A stunning hotel in Agios Nikitas Lefcada.
Away from the noisy centre, with the most beautiful view and quiet.
Spacecious rooms with lots of air and light.
Beautiful breakfast, and restaurant on specific time period 7_9 pm.
The swimming pool is a bonus but unfortunately closing at 7 pm .
Free parking included as parking on this village is a great problem.
All in all a fantastic stay ,that I would recommend without hesitation.

Quite small rooms for 4. I guess 3 or two guests would have better experience. Pool ok for kids. Lots of options for exploring island.

Cannot deny there is a steep hill to the hotel . We have recently returned from santa marina hotel in agios nikitas lefkada . Agios nikitas is a stunning village seaside location . Small authentic Greek. Very relaxing . Santa marina is not very big but maybe the largest hotel in that village . It is set at the top about 200m to the village and 400m to the beach . There is a steep hill unsuitable to people with health and walking issues I'm afraid. I even thought I was fitter until I tried walking back to my room from the village . It never got much better all week . Santa marina serve bed & breakfast and an evening meal option also . Breakfast was the same but that's fine . All was good with good options and plenty of choice . We stayed to dine evening just once . That was suitable as buffet style and fresh . It changes every evening according to others. There is a good outdoor pool with a bar . Cheapest beer we found in nikitas at 4€60 . Snacks also good . Club sandwich was enough for 2 at lunchtime. The pool is what sold us the stay . Not too many around nikitas . Not too many around the pool either . Always found a reasonable bed . Beds getting a bit tired and some need to be replaced . . Antonis deserves a mention for his service and chats . Although the hill is the reason we probably wouldn't return it's the only reason . I am surprised they do not run a evening shuttle service up and down the road every 30 mins or so . Pick up from the bus stop . Olive garden . I would use it and pay extra for it . A hotel for all ages so long as you're fit enough . Thanks for our stay . 4 star review for a 3 star hotel . Comfy beds and super view from our big enough balcony . Air-conditioning good . Fridge and safe in the room .

We were pleasantly surprised. Nice rooms, cleaned every day. The balcony is a bit small and the chairs and table are outdated. A very noisy fridge that woke us up at night - these are the only drawbacks. Everything else was excellent, the ladies at the reception were helpful and kind. We would definitely return to the hotel. The city beach is accessible on foot, but it is very crowded. From this beach you can swim to the Milos hidden beach (hidden beach behind the rocks). You can also walk to Milos beach, but again it is difficult in the heat. We walked along the west coast through Kathisma, Avali... to Megali Petra beach and further - about 18 km in total, but the views were worth it. The hotel is located on a really steep hill. Not suitable for the less physically fit. But the reward is a beautiful view from the terrace. The food is great and tasty, breakfast is the same every day, but there is everything you need. At dinner, the meat and side dishes were varied, everything was also very good, we enjoyed it. You can ask for umbrellas at the reception, which you can borrow and use for the entire stay.
