Avra Beach Hotel in Nydri

Basic but clean and comfortable room and en-suite. No lounge area for poor weather but for fine beach days it was excellent.

My wife and I stayed at Avra for two weeks in Sept 2025. From reading other reviews giving it a zero I have to question what planet some people are on. It is a 2.5/3 star hotel and restaurant. The bedrooms are basic but comfortable and the bed was one of the best I’ve slept on in accommodation anywhere. Aircon was free and most welcome. The walls are typically thin so expect a certain amount of noise in all directions but as the demographic of guests were slightly older, 50s upwards, there is more respect for others than a lot of places. The place is one of the cleanest I’ve visited in any Greek island. The staff are always cleaning. The breakfasts were fab, all you’d require to set you up for the day ahead from pastries to salads, cereals and cooked items. Cannot fault breakfast at all. The taverna is great also. We ate there very often and again top quality local Greek cuisine. Big shout out to Tasos who looked after us for two weeks in the restaurant. No you cannot take your own food/drink items into the restaurant or the sun loungers but so what. The beach out back is stoney but lovely. The loungers and an umbrella cost €15 for the day. I do think residents should get them free but to be honest we were out most days sight seeing so only paid once for a day on them. The sea is fantastic to have on your doorstep so we never missed a pool. The location is great and just outside the main town area so road noise etc isn’t a problem. There are other bars and restaurants within 100m also. All in all a fab little place to stay and see a fantastic island. I gave 4/5 as some staff need to go on smiling courses. Very efficient but no real interaction but that is my only gripe and from a great two weeks stay it isn’t much to complain about. I would recommend the Avra wholeheartedly.

Friendly family run hotel in a great location.Second visit here booked direct and same room as last year allocated.Clean rooms comfortable double bed and full size fridge .Air conditioning worked well.View from balcony to beach lovely. Breakfast fresh could sit in the garden or on terrace. Staff very friendly and helpful.Restaurant attached to hotel on the beach reasonable priced and simple Greek food done well.

Excellent family-run Hotel, fantastic location and the amazing beach.

Lovely hotel. Bedroom looks like it’s not long been upgraded. Modern bathroom and very clean. Room described as double deluxe, however in reality it’s 2 single beds put together and dressed as single beds, although they are very comfortable. Everything you need in a room, although clothes hanging space doesn’t allow for long dresses. There is a full sized fridge and a kettle, but you need to provide your own tea/coffee etc. We had a room overlooking the garden/drive, which can be quite noisy first thing when staff and deliveries arrive. Not a great view (skip, building materials etc). Breakfast is adequate but looks like it gets set out quite early as the ‘cooked’ is only just warm. Other items are as expected for a continental-style. Ideal location. On the beach. Plenty of restaurants/bars nearby and the main port 10 mins walk. The taverna at the hotel is superb. Great food and friendly staff.

Fantastic location and superb staff.Booked a late holiday to a place we had never been and knew little about.Had a sea view room with beautiful beach view.Aircon worked fine and full size fridge a bonus.Breakfast was fresh and could sit in the garden or air conned dining room.Sunbed and parasol on the beach 5 euros .All staff friendly ,relaxed and helpful.We enjoyed it so much booked again for June 2025

Great location, with 6 star amazing views looking out over the beach towards the islets facing the resort. So beautiful.

The Hotel is in an excellent location. Check in was smooth. There were rolls and water for us in the fridge on arrival. Our room was on the first floor but wasn`t far from the road, a bit dated and the air con was a bit noisy. Had we only been there up to a week it would have been fine but the next day we paid to go into a room on the 4th floor which was much further from the road. It was very modern and the air con was silent. I loved the seperate shower room and tiolet. The rooms are a good size. The food for an all inclusive is fantastic. The snack bar offered fresh food all day. The wraps were lovely. The Greek and Italian snack bar that was open for most of the day was great. The restaurant food was plentiful and tasty. When things ran out it didn`t take them long to refill it. I found plenty of choice for myself and my Husband. I really liked the themes every night. If you are there for 2 weeks, it is the same the second week but I found I took something different the second week. Being allocated a table at dinner on arrival made it easier too. The pool area was lovely but we tended to go down onto the beach as the pool area filled up quickly every day. It was only a few steps to get onto the beach. The Pool bar was well stocked and there was never much of a queue. Last but not least.... the staff!! What can I say!! Every memeber of staff we encountered were fabulous. The Reception staff were extremely helpful. The bar staff did an amazing job. The waiting staff in all eateries worked so hard and were very friendly. the cleaners were always on the go and the place looked good. The Entertainment team were always very nice and kept us up to speed with what was on. The pool was cleaned every night. A few things I might have liked was some fresh fruit in the snack bar all day, No Karaoke as an evenings entertainment and a glass in the bathroom. All in all we would come back and recomment to our friends.
