I liked the view. The cottage was ok but not as nice as I expected. The bathroom needs to be updated badly. It's very small and quite old looking. The drainage system needs major improvements. After taking a shower you need to wipe up the bath floor because the water gets everywhere and doesn't drain properly. It'd be great to have a window on the side of the bed and the back to enjoy the views. The windows fog up after a shower and need to be cleaned up. I was there for 2 nights. On my first night the adjacent cottage was empty however on the second night it was occupied. The people there made unimaginable amount of noise that didn't stop until past 2 am and I had to be on the road by 7 am at the latest. I was very upset about the noise and even though I sent 2 emails to the owners, one at about 9 pm, and one around 1 am, I never heard back from them until a day or so later. It would be great if the owners prepare and send a layout map for the site at the time on the booking so people know where they are staying and don't have to get out of their vehicles if they arrive late and can't see the cottage number in the dark, especially if it's really cold outside and getting in and out of your vehicle is not something you want to do. I would suggest that the owners remove the big stone block by the front door and use a different system to hold the door because I tripped over that block multiple times in the dark, luckily I didn't hurt myself. I would have loved to have a big window facing the parking spot because that's the direction where the Northern lights appear from and in order to see them I had to go outside. It was amazing to see the lights but it was very cold to be outside.

These cottages are completely unsuitable for winter accommodation.
We booked a three-person Superior cottage for one night for 240 euros.
1. The cottage was completely unheated upon our arrival, so much so that even the water supply froze, and there was none in any of the taps. I couldn't get any water or use the toilet.

The heating system is offered with air conditioners on "heat" mode. I think this is completely unsuitable for a northern country – two walls in the cottage are glass, there's nowhere to dry clothes, the air is completely dry, and the air conditioner is noisy on maximum, even though it has to be on constantly to maintain heat. Many people also get sick from using the air conditioner even on warm mode. As a solution, two of us were offered to move to the neighboring cottage, while one of us stayed in this one and waited for it to warm up. Incidentally, the water supply didn't warm up until the morning, meaning there was no water in the cottage from 6:00 PM until the morning.

2. The shower is unusable. There's no side between the bathroom and the shower, so water spills all over the bathroom. There's a brush there, which guests are asked to use to clean up after themselves.
3. The water heater is located right next to the bed. In my opinion, this is a technical component that should be hidden from guests' view.
4. The coffee is instant.
5. In a group of three, one of us was asked to sleep on a sofa that was terribly scratched (photo attached) and unmade. I'm uncomfortable even sitting on such a sofa, let alone sleeping. Especially when I arrive at the accommodation, having to make the sofa myself.
6. I can't be sure the cottage was cleaned before our arrival, because if the cleaning lady had done so, she would have immediately discovered there was no water and it was cold.

Room was in a decent condition but not exactly comfortable. The couch in the room was little disgusting to sit on. I have stayed in the property 6 or 7 years ago and was in better shape at that time.

Really bad reception service, the doors couldn’t be locked from inside or outside. The door was opened by the wind at night. The electrify shouted down at night without knowing any reason then the room became all dark. The air condition is noisy and vibrated all night.

There are the little cottages and then there are lofts in the large building. I thought we had a cottage, but we ended up with a loft. It was ok, but not worth the money. We got 2 nights here for the price of 5 in Reykjavik. If we had a cottage, I think it would have been worth the price. The loft room was very small. The shower drain was really slow and it flooded the bathroom every time we took a shower. I think it was a known issue because there was a squeegee in the shower.

Beautifully located cottages in the heart of Snaefellsness peninsula. The units are nice and functional, with a small but well-equipped kitchen. We did not receive the check-in information in advance (somehow we did not receive the email) so we had to call. Something to consider if you arrive late - make sure you have received an email in advance.

Surprised by so many rave reviews, I’d give this place a 3.5 at most. Views are great from the deck (get there by sunset if you can) but the bathroom is not ideal. The shower floor doesn’t slope towards the drain so you get most of the bathroom wet when you shower, nowhere to put your stuff within the shower stall, and very little space to put your toiletries elsewhere. Our bathroom door also would not stay propped open so every time you stood at the sink, the door would swing closed and hit your back. The single pillow (if you want to even call it that) they provide for each side of the bed was absolutely dreadful, so flat you might as well not have had one at all, and left my husband’s neck hurting for several days. Positive was the cottages seemed quite soundproofed, we know we had a neighbor but didn’t hear a peep from their side of the shared wall. Communication leading up to check-in was incoherent; first an email stating cabin 10, then the next day changed to 1, and then changed again to #4; it was a good thing I had internet and was checking my email or we would have tried getting into someone’s else’s cabin. If we return to this area, I would look elsewhere to stay. Expensive for what you get, even by Iceland standards.

We stayed here on the first night of our trip and it was perfect!!!!! Relaxing with a cup of coffee on the deck overlooking the landscape was a breathtaking experience, we even got to see a horseback trail ride returning from a mountains tour while we were there.

Easy to find, comfortable and cozy space, with incredible, secluded views.

It is a small single-family house, surrounded by beautiful snow.
The facilities in the room are very complete, but the smell of cooking fumes is a bit strong.
The strong wind at night can make it very noisy, which is a bit lacking.
