Matsudaya Hotel in Yamaguchi

Amazing ryokan in town with a beautiful Japanese style garden inside. Old with very good care garden stunned me for hours. Clean and new designed Japanese style bedroom made me feel like my home. Delicious Japanese dinner set. We wished to come back again.

The hotel building itself boasts 300 years of history, elegant and refined, while the amenities are convenient and modern, creating a seamless experience!
The classic Japanese garden is incredibly beautiful and highly recommended!
There are two public baths, as well as two separate, gender-neutral baths for morning and evening use, and two family baths, perfect for those who value privacy.
The service was impeccable! We booked a twin room with a city view, including breakfast and dinner. Dining was done in a private room. Although we don't speak Japanese, our butler, Mr. Saga, was very professional and diligent in explaining things to us, ensuring we understood the situation. We are so grateful! 🙏🏻
We stayed here for two nights and everything was wonderful! We're looking forward to returning in the winter! 😊

GREAT LOCATION WITH VERY AUTHENTIC JAPANESE ROOMS. FACILITIES ARE A BIT OLD BUT SERVICE IS VERY GOOD.

This is a luxury ryokan, and as expected, everything was excellent. The hot spring baths were top-notch, and the customer service was excellent. However, for a ryokan, dinner wasn't included, yet the price was comparable to ryokans that included dinner. In short, I think the value for money is questionable.

This is an inn that has a sense of history. The building itself is old, but that's one of the things to enjoy, I think. If you like the history of the Meiji Restoration, this is a must-visit!

Although it is a hotel that is over 300 years old, the hardware facilities are very well maintained, the rooms and hot spring baths are very new and clean, and the service staff are kind and courteous. Next time I go to Yuda Onsen, Matsudaya will still be my first choice.

It only takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk to the hotel by JR train, so it is easy to find. The main entrance faces the traffic light. It has a history of 300 years and has a traditional style. You need to change indoor slippers in the lobby first, and the waiter will take them out immediately when you go out. Guests' shoes will be changed for you. The entire building is already worth admiring. There is an orthodox Japanese garden with a lot of koi fish in the pond and beautiful maple leaves. You can enjoy the garden from the balcony of our room. Inside the room The bathroom has a wooden bathtub. Dinner and breakfast are eaten in the room... Our butler is very professional and introduces all kinds of food... There is also free beer and Coke. There is an electric heating blanket in the center of the room, which is thick and soft. There is no heating...but it will be very cold if you leave this area...This is an old building, and the technology was not that advanced at that time. The hot spring pool is not big, but there are two baths, which are beautiful and comfortable. Morning and evening Men's and women's baths are interchangeable. There is a "Fox's Footsteps" restaurant across the road from the hotel that is worth recommending.

Staff were very helpful with new customs of a Japanese style hotel, despite the language barrier. Good food and a western style breakfast available. The garden is a wonderful oasis and the ones was very enjoyable.

The Japanese-style room is very large. You have to change into slippers when entering the hotel lobby. The entire hotel is quiet, elegant and comfortable. The hotel has a hot spring and a long-standing store. Breakfast is divided into Japanese style and Western style, choose one.
