Natural Hot Spring Dormy Inn Premium Kushiro in Kushiro

I stayed at Dormy Inn Premium Kushiro from August 2–3 and left very disappointed.

1. Disturbing and unprofessional experience at the female public onsen
One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was for the public bath. However, I was shocked to find a boy around 5–6 years old inside the FEMALE-only onsen. I was naked, and it was extremely uncomfortable to be in that situation. What made it worse is that while the boy was inside, a staff member entered to fix the shower head and did absolutely nothing about his presence. If a 5-year-old boy is allowed in, where is the line drawn? 10 years old? 12? This raises serious concerns for both guests’ privacy and safety.

The most frustrating part was seeing that the boy’s mother later sent him outside to another adult who had been waiting. This clearly shows that the boy did not have to be brought in at all. The hotel should enforce its own rules – “female only” should mean just that. This incident left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and even traumatised.

2. Parking was a nightmare
For a “premium” hotel, the parking situation was a major inconvenience. There were not enough parking lots, and I was told to park at a distant location. To make things worse, there were no clear signs indicating which parking areas were actually covered by the hotel. Isn’t the whole purpose of providing a hotel carpark to make it convenient for guests, especially those with heavy luggage? Instead, I had to carry multiple bags one by one over from a faraway lot. This was tiring and unnecessary.

Overall
For the price and “premium” branding, I expected far better. Instead, I experienced a complete lack of professionalism, poor management, and disregard for guest comfort. Between the disturbing onsen incident and the frustrating parking situation, I cannot recommend Dormy Inn Premium Kushiro at all.
