Bells's Inn Maebashi in Maebashi

I took my 92-year-old mother on a trip, our first mother-daughter trip since leaving Maebashi 40 years ago.
We stayed at Bells Inn to coincide with Tanabata (the Star Festival). I called several hotels beforehand to ask about any concerns, and this hotel was the most pleasant. I was surprised to learn that my alma mater elementary school, which was right behind the hotel, no longer exists.

While you can now book overseas hotels online, I felt that the impression I got from the phone was accurate once we actually stayed there.

Everyone was so nice.

Not the unnatural cheerfulness and smiles you find in chain hotels, but genuinely pleasant responses. Everyone looked at my elderly mother with kind eyes, showing concern from a distance.

We were able to stay with peace of mind.

My mother seemed to really enjoy the large public bath and the massage chairs (free of charge) afterward. After her bath, she kept exclaiming, "It feels so good!" in her Gunma dialect, and I apologize for making such a fuss.

The breakfast was also delicious. The curry was full of flavor, and the toppings of steamed vegetables like lotus root, sweet potato, and bell pepper, along with the homemade tofu, had a gentle taste that soothed my overindulged stomach. Personally, I also enjoyed the marinated horse mackerel and bread. However, there were several restaurants I wanted to try in Maebashi, and unfortunately, I couldn't eat much because I'd already eaten too much. (laughs)
Also, when I asked if they had paper cups for coffee to take back to my room, they prepared them right away. The service from both the front desk staff and the dining room staff was incredibly attentive. I'm truly grateful.

I suddenly decided to take a trip to Maebashi after hearing that the department store I'd visited many times with my mother was closing this fall.

I walked around the familiar arcade and shops, but I still haven't seen enough.

Next time, I'd like to rent a bicycle.

I think I'd like to come back to Maebashi occasionally in the future. With my mother! Or by myself! Next time, I'd like to rent a wheelchair so I can explore with her.

Finally, when the young woman with the trainee name tag was working at the front desk, I really appreciated how the experienced male senior staff member watched over her with a kind gaze without interrupting. I think that's what creates such a natural and comfortable atmosphere in the hotel.

Please keep up the great work! Thanks to this wonderful hotel, I have many fond memories.
