Good value for money with sumptuous breakfast, free flow of drinks at lounge during happy hours and onsite onsen. Staff were polite and used to non-Japanese visitors. A bit cut off and so you need a car if you wish to get out of hotel. Good walking trails and beach nearby.
The large hotel is facing the sea and I have a beautiful view from my room. The room is very spacious and comfortable though the furnishings are rather dated but clean. There are free snacks and drinks provided at the lounge. Will be back!
A grand hotel and resort indeed. Due to its secluded location, the hotel is only suitable for those who drive otherwise pretty stranded in this nice hotel but meals are quite costly even for Accor members. Rooms are perfect, so clean and new, and huge for our Junior Suite. Onsen is good and snacks and drinks are available during the afternoon and later in the evening. Attractions near the hotel are...
It was excellent. I really appreciated the ride/transfer service. Both the phone and front desk staff were wonderful. The snacks in the lounge were delicious.
We were deeply impressed and moved throughout our stay. The impeccable lounge service, the breathtaking views, and the delicious cuisine truly provided an extraordinary escape from our daily routines. The chilled amazake in the post-bath lounge was absolutely delightful! My mother and I have already discussed coming back for a 3-day, 2-night stay next time. Thank you for such a wonderful experience
I opted for a Japanese-style room, though it seems the quality can vary. I went for the more affordable option, and it had a distinctly traditional ryokan feel, which might not be what you'd expect based on the modern impression of the front desk. Breakfast, in particular, was excellent.

The route to the large hot spring bath was a bit complicated, and I had to use stairs without handrails, so it was difficult for me to get there from my room since I have bad legs. It was a shame because it was a great hot spring.
Room👉🏻clean perfect Breakfast👉🏻There is not a lot of food but delicious. hotel atmosphere👉🏻very good can walk to the beach in2 minute also Hotel have swimming pool Night time very beautiful light up guest can eat Free ramen in the evening
I stayed here for business. Everything was great. The food was also excellent. The bath was good, but it would be even better if it was better. The rooms were very spacious and perfect for families. The location was perfect, and the night lighting was stunning.
Good location, right next to the beach.
Good location, right next to the beach.
I stayed here for 2 days and 1 night. It was nice that it was located near the sea and I could go for a drive early in the morning. The dinner and breakfast were also more than worth the price and I was very satisfied. The whole facility was like an amusement facility, and I liked how the staff were there to entertain the guests.

A great tatami room with French window opening for immediate access to the swimming pool (not usable when I was there in October). I've deducted a star on ''Amenities' as there was no piano for me to practice on (a great bonus feature I've come across In other hotels in Japan). A short train journey from the town takes you to the ferry terminal for the trip across Tokyo bay.
Great beach view, excellent service, friendly staff, nice breakfast. Our room also had direct access to the pool, so it was very convenient. They also provide a free shuttle service to and from Tateyama Station.
The rooms in the executive building are new and large, with ample space for three beds. There is a hot spring between the two buildings, so you can soak in the hot spring while looking at the sea during the day. The breakfast set is quite rich, enough for a grown man to eat. The staff are very warm and friendly. The sea view at night is beautiful.
Since I don't drive, I was looking for a hot spring hotel within walking distance of Tateyama Station and with a stunning ocean view. This one was great in every way, except for a few issues: There's an indescribable odor in the hallway leading from the second floor of the annex to the main building. If you're a zoo lover like me, you can probably imagine the smell. Even with the windows open for fresh...
The hotel is right by the sea. The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy, with complete facilities. You can see the sea and the scenery is beautiful. The breakfast and dinner are also rich and taste good.

Not bad, better make a reservation with dinner
I stayed for two nights. I was quite disappointed. Looking out at the ocean, the cars in the parking lot in front of me were visible. I only had breakfast, but it was average. When I went to the night lounge, they said, "It's not ready yet..." which was annoying since I wasn't there to eat. There were several types of alcohol, but the only snacks were rice balls, diced cake, and nuts. The bath in the...
Beautiful full ocean views in a small, very well kept traditional Japanese-style hotel. Very clean and nicely furnished. Wonderful kaiseki meals with fresh local fish and unique dishes. Quiet, isolated beachfront property with a small, plain beach area and concrete sea wall for fishing. Peaceful and tranquil weekend in quiet Tateyama.
First of all, be careful not to put anything on the TV cabinet! In the past, the Japanese were short in stature, and this type of old house was designed and built to their stature, making it particularly easy to hit the head. The hotel has two foreign employees who speak English and one who speaks a little Chinese, but when they are away, the other employees' English is choking enough. Should a hotel...
I was very satisfied with everything from the service, the room, the food, the bath, etc. The lounge service included free coffee, draft beer, whiskey, small cakes, inari sushi after dinner (lol), and scones in the morning. It may sound selfish, but I ended up eating a lot of things other than the food... The first drink of dinner was also free. Also, I left something (an electric shaver) on the sink...
Wonderful stay! We had the most wonderful stay from beginning to end! Service was friendly and gracious. The room was beautiful. As was the onsen. And both breakfast and dinner were superb. The front desk alerted the kitchen it was my wife’s birthday the following week and they made us up a lovely little plate of dessert treats to top off our excellent kaiseki. I used the hot spring for a day trip. Entry begins after 7pm on Mondays. At the time of this posting, the weekday fee is 1,000 yen (extra if you need rental towels, etc.). Once, when I arrived around 4pm, I was told, "It opens from 6pm," so be careful. The hot spring has an indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a sauna. There is no cold bath. The open-air bath is small and can only accommodate about ...
Very nice, very quiet in the suburbs The room is very big Have a sea view Rich and delicious dinner
Everything was perfect! While my family enjoyed staying at this Ryokan. Baby/kids friendly, free ramen at night, free drinks most of the time , free massage chair, and I loved the Onsen so much. My mum and husband loved their high quality food:) It was amazing and highly recommended this place.
The staff was kind, bright and just like a resort. It was an all-inclusive and all-you-can-drink variety of alcohol, and it was a very luxurious meal such as funamori and lobster. The hot springs were also pleasant, and the open-air bath while watching the stars in the sky was so moving that I forgot about the passage of time and was able to relax from the bottom of my heart. Excellent value. Buffet dinner includes oysters you can grill at your table. Hotel accepts dogs and there’s a play area for them by the beach. Good buffet breakfast. All rooms sea view. Hotels in this area (Shirahama) all very similar, but this one is my favorite.
The building is old, and the rooms were renovated, but the carpet had a lot of stains and the floors were unpleasant to look at. If you have children, the buffet dinner and breakfast are great, but the quality was not what I would call high. There were two pools, one for children, which was nice. It was a shame that there was no place to dry swimsuits. I thought this was a hotel that was considerate...
The service provided by the front desk lady named Gina is very good. The scenery of this hotel is also very good. The hot spring water is very hot and comfortable. You can have breakfast while enjoying the view near the beach. There is also a swimming pool in the hotel. You can see the Nojimazaki Lighthouse from the breakfast area. You can also see the beautiful seaside and lighthouse from the room...
Everything was fine except that we were asked to pay for the hotel, despite the fact that we booked it through you, that is, it was already paid, we somehow sorted it out ourselves, that is, we were able to explain what we had already paid for, but it took our time!!! That’s why I would like to avoid such foolishness next time!
Was allocated a room with Futon beds, usually I don’t mind but floors had stains and I question the level of cleanliness of having pre-prepared futons with ‘clean’ sheets stuffed in supply cupboards which we had to set up ourselves. We didn’t think the BBQ smell from diners on Ground floor would affect us since we were on the 4th floor but the smell made its way up to our level. The indoor onsen...

My wife and I recently stayed at The Shinra Tateyama, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The staff, the rooms, the dining—everything was truly impressive. Enjoying that scenery from a beautifully designed room with a private open-air onsen made the stay feel effortlessly luxurious...
Stayed 3 days/ 2 nights. It was excellent time for relaxing and exploring the city. The hotel is really nice , clean and has amazing views looking toward the ocean. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back again
The room is large and comfortable, the hot spring and the large bath are good, the hotel is near the mountain, and because of the high terrain, it has a good sea view, and the environment is quite quiet. The overall feeling is good, it is a place where people can relax
Me and my wife stayed here for 2 nights during our honeymoon. Location and room were fantastic, very relaxing experience. Strongly recommend both the food at breakfast and the dinner menu - was a highlight of the trip for us both. The staff were fantastic despite not speaking English and us not speaking Japanese- they met every one of our needs and went above and beyond.
We went there on our wedding anniversary. We booked a standard room, but we were put into a suite without any explanation, whether it was the hotel's consideration or because the room was fully booked. There was no prior consent or explanation on the day. We asked if we had the wrong room, and they finally told us. On the contrary, it was too big and we couldn't relax. The suite door was wobbly, as...

I used my paid leave and stayed here on Friday while touring around Boso Peninsula. It's far from the ocean, but I'd seen plenty of it before, and it's reassuring for motorcyclists that I can park my bike under a roof and that it's a little further away from the ocean. The food was as delicious as its reputation suggests, and they have a wide selection of alcohol, so it goes well with alcohol. I...
This is a very good inn. As it is a ryokan with a culinary inn feel, I had high expectations for the food, but it exceeded my expectations. Also, all the staff were kind and polite, which left a good impression. Thank you very much. I would like to visit this inn again.
The service was excellent and the place was very clean, so I highly recommend it! The building itself is old, but the cleaning and service more than make up for it. The food was also really delicious, and you could tell the staff had put a lot of effort into making it, so I'd definitely like to go again.
As you'd expect from a historic inn, there are quite a few stairs and steps throughout. While I'm not particularly handicapped, my knees are not as strong due to age and weight, so it was a bit of a challenge. The guest room is 10 tatami mats in size with a spacious veranda, more than enough space for a single guest. The building itself feels old, but there are no stains or tears. It's equipped with...
This quaint little inn is far off the beaten path, but the food is good enough to rival anywhere in Japan. With fresh sashimi, broilled fish, and all kinds of shellfish like abalone, the sea's bounty is literally at your fingertips. Enjoy the best seasonal sashimi with a generous helping of wasabi horseradish. The most photogenic dish would have to be the red snapper. The whole fish is cooked to perfection...

The room was clean and the temperature was just right. The lighting was especially pleasant. There's a convenience store nearby. Transportation is convenient; it's right next to the station. There are many restaurants around, making it easy to get to tourist attractions.
The hotel is literally 2 minute walk from Tateyama station. There is a 7-Eleven on the first floor. The room was recently renovated and it is bigger than the Japanese standard for these kinds of hotels. The reception staff was very friendly when doing the check in.
PROS: Good location, close to station and about 7 minutes of walk to the beach. Got 7/11 on the ground floor which is convinient. Good service. CONS: Was getting smoke smell even though was booked into non smoking room, which was a little annoying considering I don't smoke. I was exhausted from my motorcycle trip and made a last-minute reservation to stay here. I was traveling alone, but I accidentally booked a double room. The guesthouse was very quiet, the landlady was very kind, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful.
These guest rooms, built with abundant use of wood, are elaborately designed in the style of the bubble economy era. While some signs of age are visible, they are well-maintained and provide a comfortable environment. Families with children will appreciate the amenities, such as the diaper disposal bins and the play area in the dining room.
This pension is located near the sea in Tateyama. There is a space for small children in the dining room (open until 10pm), and they provide baby beds (for a fee), baby food (500 yen per meal), and baby chairs. The exterior of the building is beautiful. The entrance, reception, and staircases on both sides are sure to appeal to the girlish heart (lol). There were plenty of sofas, which were convenient for putting down luggage and sitting. The kettle provided was also cute. What I liked...
The food prepared by the skilled chef was fantastic, and the prompt service from the waiters was very pleasant, making my stay very comfortable. The food and service were top-notch, and this is a hostelry I would definitely like to visit again. The entrance is also very cute!
The food was delicious. They also had wine, so it was a great value. However, I think they could have explained the food a little more. They seemed to be trying not to disturb others. Enjoy a lively meal with everyone. Having said that, I wouldn't recommend going alone. The rooms were like a pension, or even better. Well, it is an auberge, after all.
The room was just as cute as it looked from the outside, and it was spacious and very comfortable. From the jacuzzi bath, you can see the forest outside the window. The birdsong is soothing and relaxing, and I enjoyed a relaxing soak in the bubble bath. All the food was also delicious. I'm not an expert on wine, but I enjoyed the sparkling and white wine. I can't handle alcohol, so I refrained...

While not exactly an open-air bath, the bath on the rooftop/balcony was exceptional! However, the stairs had a terrible animal urine smell, which was very unpleasant for someone with a sensitive nose like me. I stayed at this hostel for one night with two meals included. I've seen some negative reviews about the cleanliness and whether or not there's a refrigerator, but it didn't bother me. The owners were wonderful, and the delicious, generously portioned food was fantastic! The bathroom and toilet were very clean, and the view of the sea from the rooftop was beautiful. Dinner was also very tasty, but unfortunately, I had eaten a lot on the way there, so I couldn't finish it all. 😭 I'm so sorry! 🥲 I would love to visit again. Thank you so much! ✨
We stayed in the annex with our dog. It felt more like a rental villa or cottage than a typical guesthouse – luxurious, clean, and thoughtfully designed for dogs. Depending on the season, you can see fireflies nearby, and there's a pool on-site, so it's highly recommended for children up to elementary school age. This was my first time staying at a pension, and even though it was peak season, I was surprised to find such great food for such a reasonable price! The portions were quite large, so I recommend eating lightly at lunchtime. If you like alcohol, I highly recommend the bar at night!
