This onsen hotel is excellent overall. Upon arrival, staff proactively met us in the parking lot, even holding an umbrella to shield us from the rain. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and friendly, and spoke fluent English, which made communication easy.
The room itself was a pleasant surprise. The tatami room was spacious, and the adjustable chairs were very comfortable. The balcony offered a beautiful view, and enjoying afternoon tea while looking at the snowy scenery was worth the price alone.
The onsen facilities offer a great variety, including three free private baths (貸切風呂), one of which is wheelchair accessible, making it convenient for elderly guests. The outdoor onsen, with its stunning snow views, was particularly beautiful. I definitely need to plan another trip here in the autumn.

Quiet and peaceful, not crowded. There are many onsen baths to choose from, perfect for relaxation. I will definitely go back again.

This is a very high-quality hot spring resort with many baths to choose from. I stayed here in January, and several of the outdoor baths were particularly charming. Soaking my feet in the warm, hot water while it snowed was a beautiful experience, with a stream and mountain views. The rooms were also very spacious and clean. It's a highly recommended place.

How do I describe this hotel? In one word: amazing. It was my first time experiencing a mixed-gender bath from over a century ago. I was truly impressed! The elderly gentlemen were just casually strolling around without a care in the world. Families, you absolutely must try the mixed-gender outdoor hot spring bath. It's located in the old wing of the hotel, a bit of a walk from the new wing, but once you're in the hotel, just grab a map and you'll find it. You can also take the opportunity to peek into the rooms and dining hall of this century-old ryokan. As for the room, it goes without saying that upon entering, you're greeted with a flood of green, which was quite a pleasant surprise. The only minor point is that the Hozawa River was a bit murky. I drove upstream along the river, and soon lost cell service, so it is quite remote, but definitely worth a visit. The two meals were decent, nothing spectacular but perfectly acceptable.

This was my second stay, and the autumn scenery is even more beautiful than in summer! The hotel's environment, service, and food are all excellent. We stayed two nights, and the dinners were different. The second night's dinner was so lavish, I couldn't finish it all even though I was stuffed. The breakfast buffet was also superb. The hotel staff are all very friendly and can help you call a taxi. The hotel has many hot springs, and the water quality is excellent. The only pity is that the semi-open-air hot spring now has glass windows installed, so you can't properly enjoy the autumn scenery outside, and it feels a bit stuffy. The mixed-gender bath has the most beautiful views, and from 8 PM to 9 PM, it's reserved for ladies. It would be perfect if they could also arrange an hour for ladies during the daytime, as the daytime scenery is even better, and ladies might feel more comfortable in a mixed-gender bath during those hours. I'll definitely stay at this hotel again if I get the chance.
