This is our 1st time staying in Yonezawa and it’s a very convenient location with an unsheltered short walk from the JR station. It can however be a very cold walk in winter tho. There is a 24hr huge supermarket opposite. Reception lady was helpful and spoke a little english - assisted us with the check in machine. Good service. The location of Toyoko Inn is always good, the included breakfast is very good, and the CP value is very high It’s highly recommended to stay here during the Yonezawa Snow Festival. A good Buisness Hotel, the room is not crowded. It's a 10-minute walk from the Shinkansen station (a little bit scary at night without lights). There is a large arcade behind it, you can hang out at night. The nearby restaurants close early, and there is only a convenience store diagonally across the street. Locates near the center of Yonezawa city so it is convenient to go everywhere with under 20mins by walk. Receptionists are friendly and supportive and they can speak a little English so it is fine for foreigner travel. The bathroom is smaller than expected but it is quite enough.

I grew up here and visited often, 12 years later I return and the hotel staff still remembers me. The food is exceptional and the room is small. But so what, it is a small Japanese hotel. The breakfast menu has not changed for over 16 years but why change amazingness. I have never tried the english meal but the japanese one is absolutely amazing!!

I felt like there was a smell coming up from the bathroom drain. It was unpleasant when using the bathroom or mirror. Other than that, I was satisfied.
