Jannat Regency Jalal Abad in Dzhalal-Abad

The people here are great. The breakfast is good, good variety in both dining areas (lobby and downstairs when there are more guests) and staff are accommodating. I believe that basically most foreigners use this hotel when in Jalal-Abad, I met people from a few countries. Now for the things to watch for. I believe the hotel is run by very nice 20-somethings that haven't stayed in hotels. Early in my stay, I found out that my key card opened all the doors in the hotel, not only mine (and vice versa), this fact was met with a ho-hum attitude. Every day I also had to get my key re-keyed, as it never opened my door if I was gone longer than a few hours (and it was in my pocket, NOT lying with / by my cell phone that could deactivate it). A small issue, except that I was carrying heavy bags each day. True, there is a swimming pool, great, I love to swim - BUT there were also a handful / 4/5 men sitting around it every day and no women, so little chance that I'd go out there alone to enjoy the amenity. There was a party when I was there (looked Russian, not Kyrgyz) - only once did I see a woman around (not in) the pool. If you are going to have a pool for guests, please make them feel welcome to use it. The laundry charges are ridiculously high, like Paris or the US, I could've bought new clothes for the price I paid. Payment and check out was a nightmare, but in the end it all worked out. All said, would I stay there again? Yeah, probably. I took most of these issues lightly, as it is a quirky place, possibly the best in Jalal-Abad (and the price reflects that... should be $50 tops!). I just hope they will train staff a bit in international hospitality.
