Kaunas City in Kaunas

The Kaunas City Hotel was a great spot for my Mum and I to stay in December 2025. The rooms were warm and comfortable, with two very cozy beds, a desk, fridge, chair, and plenty hanging/shelf space for clothing. The bathrooms have only showers, with a step up (just for those checking for accessibility reasons.) We were fortunate enough to have one of the rooms facing out onto the main pedestrianised street, and all of the trees were lit up for Christmas. It was really beautiful to look out onto. The lift goes up from a door at street level, to the reception, and breakfast/coffee room - a space you can use at any time, with a couple of couches and coffee machine. The staff were helpful, and were really great at sorting out our directions to restaurants, etc., by putting addresses into my googlemaps, for example. It was super centrally located for buses; and the Bolt/Uber fares in the city were super reasonable, at between E3&E5, dependent on where you wanted to go. (Castle was E3.5, and railway station was E4.8. Lots of restaurants/bars on the same street, or about a 15 min walk into the Old Town Square area. It's all pedestrianised, so super safe and easy to get around on foot. There were a lot of people staying for treatment/recovery at private healthcare clinics (which was highly recommend, for info!) Those we spoke to said it was a good spot for this too, but I can't directly comment on that!

Great location in middle of pedestrian street in kaunas. Lovely rooms and hotel in general.

The hotel was so perfect! I give super high marks for having the most quiet/insulated windows!!! I was overlooking the busy pedestrian zone and when the windows were closed I never heard a thing. The room also had a mini split AC that was nice in maintaining the temperature in the middle of the night. The bed was perfect. I was very happy there. There were 2 bus stops about a block away so ir was easy to get around.

Great location
Great location on the walking street and convenient parking. Check in was easy and staff excellent. My biggest gripe was a single, very flat pillow. Great value and I would go back.

Centrally located hotel close to the main sights, shops, restaurants and bars. Also close to a bus stop on the route from the airport. No issues with noise. Clean rooms. Very good Wi-Fi. Helpful and polite staff. Decent breakfast but the coffee isn't great.

Kaunas Trip
Very central and great value for money. Staff excellent and room very comfortable and clean. Couldn’t fault it for the price I paid.

This was in the heart of old town Janis. There were tons of restaurant and bar options in walking distance. It felt safe comfortable. The room was clean, well equipped and great for our family of three.

The hotel is ideally situated at the end of the main avenue and easily reached from the airport via the 29G bus, which costs only 1 euro. My room was clean and comfortable and similar to what you might find in the UK in a Premier Inn or Travelodge. Breakfast was basic, but a good enough selection. Staff friendly and pleasant. All in all, I can highly recommend this hotel.

My recent stay at Kaunas City Hotel was okay overall, but there were a few noticeable downsides. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the staff were polite and helpful during check-in. However, the biggest issue was the noise insulation between rooms. I could clearly hear conversations, TV sounds, and even footsteps from neighboring rooms, which made it difficult to relax and get a good night's sleep.

While the hotel has some positive aspects, such as free parking in the heart of the Kaunas City, the lack of soundproofing really impacted my experience. If you're a light sleeper, this might not be the best choice. With some improvements in this area, it could be a much better stay. For now, it was just average.

We were very pleased with this hotel.
The hardest thing is to find the parking entrance, especially if it is already dark. Follow Google Maps but the entrance should be on your right, so drive slowly as the sign indicating the parking entrance is kind of small and hard to read. Once you arrive, you’ll have a barrier and a gentleman will come, confirm if you have a reservation at the hotel, and help you find a parking spot (can’t book one in advance, unfortunately). It’s a bit tight but doable.

Perfect location, and the staff was very polite.
Our room was huge and we had asked for a balcony, and we had one! The sitting area of our suite was great and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious and clean.
Breakfast was ok as for choices, but it’s downstairs and one day it smelled very badly there, like sewers. The other day, it was better, but we tried to sit closer to the buffet and not at the other side with more tables.
The smell problem also affected our room, though. Not like sewers, but food odours (we believe the kitchen exhaustion system passes by room 202).
Those were the only issues. Everything else was fine and we believe this to be the best hotel at Kaunas.
We also tried their restaurant and we had a superb meal there at a rather reasonable price.
