Langkawi Chantique Resort in Pantai Tengah

Beautiful, quiet, pristine clean hotel with incredible staff who went above and beyond for me. They gave a a luxury experience at a fraction of the luxury prices! I was greeted at the reception by the lovely receptionist Moon ( or Muun?. She welcomed me with a delicious refreshing cold Pandan tea and some sweet snacks. She took me to my room and gave me a tour of the property. My room was impeccably clean, stylishly decorated and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay from cold AC, ceiling fan, cold fridge,coffee, tea, kettle, bath towels, beach towels, shampoo, soap, toothbrush… The property had a lovely pool and you can borrow bicycles for free. They even provided me with mosquitoe repellent as I am bug phobic. Breakfast was included in my room. The first morning it was brought to my room as hotel occupancy was low. I chose my menu the night before. The breakfast was absolutely lovely! The second morning and on, it was a buffet and they had so much variety for different tastes. Although hot food items were mostly geared towards Indians with foods such as Vadas, samosas, salads, spicy potatoes… you can still find western options like sliced cheese, butter, croissants, fruit and my favourite…PEANU BUTTER. I opted for scrambled eggs as there is an egg station you can order from. Aside from that, the hotel has laundry service. One of my pet peeves is stinking hotel pillows. Most hotels don’t wash the pillows, only the pillow covers but I did my smell test and theses pillows smelled so clean! The staff here however, are what made my stay exceptional. They really did go above and beyond for me. Absolutely lovely staff with so much kindness and so respectful. Upon asking questions I found out the owner is Dutch. And from my time in the Netherlands and in Aruba I can say I absolutely love Dutch people And as a Canadian born in France I feel great knowing the owner has the European type high standards that is often lacking in South East Asia. Upon meeting the owner briefly I can also attest that he is also an incredibly nice person but also a person with high standards and it shows through every touch of his gorgeous property! All and all I highly recommend this lovely little place. I know I will be back. To the owner and staff of The Chantique, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of me and giving me such a wonderful memorable stay. PS they have a huge library of wonderful books as well as adorable cats!

A lovely, peaceful resort, a 5-minute drive from the beach. We received a very warm welcome from a very friendly receptionist, who escorted us to a family chalet (two connecting cottages). The chalets were spacious, cool, clean, and had a lovely terrace with a fan. The clean pool provided much-needed refreshment, and the breakfast was more than excellent! The tropical garden was beautifully maintained with plenty of greenery and colorful flowers. A truly wonderful accommodation!

The whole experience was wonderful, staff were super helpful and happy, accommodation is much better than expected or photos. Rooms are clean and big. Pool is bigger than it looks in photo. They offer various trips and can hire car to explore. It is located away from main town, but only a 10 minute walk or a MR10 Grab. Only very minor drawback is low level building work on plot next door, but not very noisy and I would still go back in a heartbeat!

Moon and the other Staff at the Chantique were so helpful and thoughtful. It is a wonderfully tranquil place to stay for a few days and excellent value for money. The rooms and grounds are spotless, the breakfast is lovely and the thoughtful little touches make it a lovely and relaxing place to stay.

We stayed for a few days but would have been happier staying longer. The staff were all lovely, helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and extremely clean by other local standards. Comfortable bed, effective and quiet air con, lovely clean bathroom. The breakfast was ok, self service but with eggs cooked to order, not masses of variety but still all nice and fresh. The pool area was nice, despite the fact that there are a few rooms it doesn’t feel overly cramped or noisy (but maybe we were just lucky). Each room has its own private terrace which is nice. You can easily walk to the Chenang Beach area or the night market or you can also borrow bikes to cycle. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Just set back from main resort but a 15 minute walk in. This resort is spotlessly clean and well maintained. All the staff have been so friendly and welcoming. Pool and gardens are lovely and clean and so peaceful. Thankyou for a relaxing enjoyable stay.

Spent a very relaxing month here and I have to say a huge thank you to Aisha, Mohammed and their wonderful staff for making our stay so pleasant. We took the option of the adjoining cottages giving us two rooms, both with a sun terrace. The rooms were spotless and kept that way throughout, and we also received breakfast every morning with the option of local and / or Western style, fruit, juices, eggs cooked to order and local pastries. The pool and garden areas were kept in immaculate condition and the staff always had a smile and cheery word as they went about their tasks. The 'Chillcation' T-Shirts worn by the staff really do sum Chantique up very well. Despite what some reviews say, it is a pleasant (less than 15 minutes) walk to Pantai Cenang area and the beach, and there are also bicycles available at Chantique for when 'supplies' are required to stock up the fridge with sunset beers !! Looking forward to returning next year.

Excellent place to stay. Very clean, nice , friendly staff , lovely breakfast. Nice pool . Safe and secure at night with night watchmen and security cameras. Quite close to the beach. Shops nearby. Free cooled drinking water available on site.
