All in all, thank you guys for this memorable holiday!
Thank you very much for everything, we had a wonderful time again! This was our third time staying in Belmar Hotel for 11 days in December 2025 (after 2023 and 2024). I hope we can book accommodation with you again next year!
We have tried some accommodations in the Maldives, and we found the Belmar Beach Hotel (formerly Paguro Hotel) to be the best among the local islands so far. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean, quiet, and in a very good location, right on the bikini beach. The hotel restaurant is very good. The rooms and beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning is good. The coral reef around the island is amazing, and the beach is very beautiful.
There are many activities to choose from, we liked swimming with sharks, manta rays, and turtles the best. We also really enjoyed visiting Velidhoo, the abandoned resort. Deep-sea fishing was also great, the hotel has professional fishing rods. Ukulhas Island is easy to reach by public ferry.
I can hardly say anything negative, maybe there were a little more mosquitoes this year.
I hope that Bodufolhudhoo remains a small, "family-friendly" island with smaller accommodations (such as the Belmar Beach Hotel). Unfortunately, a larger, multi-story hotel is already being built next to the harbor, but I hope that no more like it will be built on the island. I hope that there will never be large hotels here like on the islands Ukulhas and Mathiveri. This only attracts mass tourism, and too many tourists will destroy these islands in the long run. Bodufolhudhoo could be turned into a resort-like island with lots of palm trees and small accommodations.
