Sands Inn in Ukulhas

We visited Mathiveri in July 2018 and stayed for 19 days at Mathiveri Inn. When we arrived at the Male Airport we were warmly welcomed. The Speedboat Transfer was even nice. You can also go by seaplane. After a two hour speedboat transfer we arrived at Mathiveri. We were also warmly welcomed here by Ali Sameer, the owner of the Guesthouse Mathiveri Inn. He showed us the restaurant, our room and even the beautiful island. We participated in two trips, a dolphin trip and a manta trip. The trips were also organised by Ali Sameer and it has been a great day. Whenever we have had any questions or wishes Ali tried to give us an answer and make us happy. The island is beautiful. There is a nice bikini beach and a also some other beaches where you can enjoy the fantastic blue water of the Indian ocean. Near to Mathiveri there is an uninhabited island, Mathiveri Finolhu. The island is also very nice and you can spend there some time for snorkelling or only relaxing. Around the lagoon there are lots of sting rays, eagle rays, reef fish, baby reef sharks and when you are lucky you can even see turtles swimming in the lagoon.
The hospitality at Mathiveri is amazing. We were warmly welcomed and had lots of good conversations with the people who live on the island.
We booked a family room. The room was always cleaned and we got fresh towels whenever we wanted. The rooms are fitted with air conditioning, a safe, fresh water bottle, tea, cups and dishes. You can use free WiFi in the Guesthouse and also in the restaurant. We booked full board. For breakfast you can choose between continental breakfast, which means toast, marmalade and omelette or local breakfast, which means maldivian delights. For lunch you choose your meal à la carte. For dinner Ali prepared a very tasty buffet. The food is fantastic.
We really enjoyed our holidays at Mathiveri and we will come back for sure.

Nice place to stay on the island. We stayed in the new unit which is right next to public beach and picnic island. While not 100% perfect yet it provides excellent value for money and is great for budget travelers. Stuff is always around and accommodating.

We stayed three nights and all was perfect, rooms are very clean service is more than great.
Zaa helped us with everything and made are stay awesome.
The beach is right next to the hotel and it is perfect.

My husband and I stayed here for three days two nights. It’s close to the beach and loved every bit of the stay. Food was arranged at “pizza palace” not far from the guest house (around 2 min walk). Visited Mathiveri Finolhu for one day. Mathiveri inn arranged a small speed boat to take us to that island where we had a relaxing day.

Very nice room. Friendly staff. Very close to beach.
