A special shout-out to Mr. Abdul Gofran for his exceptional service. When my daughter accidentally left her jacket at the hotel, he personally came to the airport not once, but twice—due to a miscommunication about the meeting time—to ensure it was safely returned to us. This level of dedication and kindness truly stood out.
Highly recommended for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and genuinely caring service in Malé.

Yesterday, my girlfriend and I booked a room at Hotel Starshell, Hulhumalé’. Upon arrival, we were told that unmarried couples are not allowed, which was not clearly mentioned during booking.
On top of that, the receptionist was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of handling the situation properly, they refused to refund our booking and tried to pressure us into booking another room, clearly attempting to get more money from us despite it being their policy issue.
This behavior felt unfair, dishonest, and very disrespectful. If such policies exist, they should be clearly communicated in advance, and staff should treat guests with basic courtesy and professionalism.
Overall, a very bad experience. I would strongly not recommend this hotel.
The check in was quick and simple. Staff were very helpful. The room is lovely. However, if you are sensitive to the noise then I am not recommended, because you can hear the car noise from road. My room got lonely view far from sea and shade from tree.

I wish to extend my stay directly with property as my bf able to fly to see me after his work, but as per property rules if you don’t have marriage certificate then it won’t be allowed to proceed. I understand, but nothing was mentioned so I won’t recommend to any expats in the Maldives.

Room is acceptable, but toilet a bit small. Bad sound insolution, you can hear the voice from street clearly.
Simple breakfast provided. Nice view from the restaurant on top floor.
The building / room must have some drainage issue that having the awful smell coming from the bathroom and it is terrible to a point that is affecting my sleep. Then it is located next to the busy road with zero sound proofing, it is like sleeping on the street. minimal choice to the breakfast selection which you can just skip. Avoid at all cost.
