Excellent choice. Very nice hosts, cozy accommodation very close to bikini beaches. Snorkeling on the house reef just a few meters from the beach. Extremely polite and friendly. I showed up late, confused, and tired. The Octave crew went out of their way to make sure all my needs were met. It was an OK stay. I only stayed for one night, nothing spectacular. I just need a bed that night because the immigration officer said the property I booked for that night is not accredited. The bathroom is located outside of my room but I was the only one using it. Quite a 10 to 15-minute walk to the jetty to get to Maafushi.

We didn't stay here but had dinner one evening. The food was very good but we waited almost 1.5 hours before we got the food. Apparently the hotel can't handle a la carte guests but only the hotel guests. Better say no than let people wait that long.

The room rate is a little over 900 RMB including tax... It's a very, very basic guesthouse. The room is a three-minute walk from the pier. The building only has three floors, and the middle two floors have better views. For me, I feel that the accommodation is not very clean and could use some improvements. The system mentioned that we need to pay an additional 24 USD per night at the hotel, but we already paid 167 USD in total. Considering this, I don’t think it’s worth the price, as the accommodation is not very comfortable and the cleanliness needs improvement.

The Canopus is wonderful and in a truly amazing place. I read a few worrying reviews before we arrived, I can assure you, they are fake.
