Dar il-Hena Organic B&B Mini-hotel

Awful experience: we were staying for a weekend and while there, during one of our dives, the manager of this b&b has threatened us blackmailing us for more money and we had to call the police to retrieve our luggage. We have filled a formal complaint with the police which is still investigating the facts. The b&b is managed by two italians who clearly are not running it with the "calm and organic" style of the previous management. Avoid at all costs

Knowing this B&B markets itself as a relaxing place to stay, makes it all the more ironic how stressful our experience was while staying here on our honeymoon.
Prior to our arrival, we asked if we could leave our luggage before checking in, so it would be in a safe place. We were met with a firm "no" and were referred to the T&Cs by the manager, who suggested we’d leave our luggage in the car instead "where they’d be nice and warm".
Upon our arrival later that evening, we were asked to pay an outstanding amount for our 3 night stay, however the card machine didn’t work. We agreed to re-address the issue the following morning since we had plans for a night dive. Upon our return, we turned on the air con for an hour prior to going to bed, and when we woke up during the night because of the heat, we turned it back on again. We were suddenly woken up by someone shouting at 6am, and tried to go back to sleep afterwards (which wasn’t easy because by now light was coming in through the windows).
When we arrived for breakfast (which, in fairness, was lovely), there was metal music playing in the background, and one of us got summoned by the manager who again referred to his T&Cs while asking us to pay. Again the card machine didn’t work, and since we had another plan of diving planned, we agreed to address payment upon our return.
However, when we emerged from our dive, we had received 44 messages from the manager, which became progressively more abusive (several messages consisted mainly of profanities in all caps) and included threats of locking us out of the property and "don’t try to come in through the back door or else". Given this situation, we decided to take the matter up with the police since we were now worried for our safety and wanted to have assistance to pick up our luggage – we felt there was a risk this manager could seriously lose his temper if we went on our own. Obviously we didn’t stay for the additional 2 nights we had additionally booked and never received our deposit back, even though we were harassed during our honeymoon.
